This is one of the worst-executed political dirty tricks in history.For those who don’t want to look at tweets, a reporter tweeted a picture of some people dressed as Charlotteville “Unite the Right” tiki-torchers, who approached the Youngkin campaign bus before an event, saying “We’re all in for Glenn.” The McAuliffe campaign spokespeople (and your usual crew of Dem operatives) immediately called Youngkin a racist /white supremacist and said it was disqualifying. Let’s just say some people were skeptical.Closer digging revealed that one of the five (the heavy-set one) seems to be a direct McAuliffe staffer, and two are with the Virginia Young Democrats. The Young Democrats had larger social media profiles, so there were lots of comparison photos, and both have now locked their accounts. Just now (about 20 minutes ago), the Virginia Young Democrats put out a statement saying the weren’t involved, but that’s going down the tubes.
