cardcrimsonParticipantI keep getting emails from the Dems beating the fundraising drum to raise money to fight Trump if he refuses to leave office if he loses.
This has to be the stupidest effort since, well, the defund the police effort. Clowns to the left, Jokers to the right. . . .

LegendKeymasterIt’s idiotic. It’s just another example of playing the “trump is a dictator” string when the merits of the argument are zero.

ParticipantI’m curious. Is the money for tanks, F22’s, Apache helo’s or Hessian mercs?

rjnwmillParticipantAhhh, I am starting to see how the pieces fit together.
Those late night fence climbing outings at the club to get your laps in…just part of you pt?
How many comrades in your cell? Do you use camo “S” class sedans for your missions?
Here's a toast with one last pour, may it last forever and a minute more;

Participantno comrades in my militia…but if you can’t jump a fence, or burrow really fast like a badger, you are pretty useless when the going gets tough. For instance I am pretty sure Doc could over a fence if he needed to and Rocky could burrow pretty fast, I am not sure about you.

FratBoySpikeParticipantI’ll just say that I see “militias” everytime I go to our local outdoor range here in Butte County, CA. I’ll also say that I am fairly certain that gun and ammo purchases are stalled because supply cannot keep up with demand. I can’t tell you whether COVID-19 is the cause for shortages or demand has truly increased; I just know every gun I wish to add to my arsenal is on backorder no matter where you search on the internet. I leave for Texas in 50 more days where many more options will be available, but their inventories are very nearly depleted too. The only rifles at the gun shop nearest my new home is .50 cal Barrett semiautomatic sniper rifles at $12k each.

ParticipantNot a good sign. People are scared. And they buy guns and ammo if they are smart.

LegendKeymasterBuy guns when nobody else is. Guns rarely depreciate much unless you wear them out or store them poorly. Ammo can last decades or longer if you don’t do anything stupid like leave it out in the rain. And, both are relatively liquid, and especially so during times like today.
In other words, you probably get about the same yield on stored guns and ammo as you get on your savings account these days, and you have optionality.
I suspect that some of the panic buying is because Biden is likely to win the presidency. Obama sold more guns than any president in history, and the left claims he didn’t intend to do anything to gun rights.

ParticipantI am kicking myself for selling my surplus M1 carbine in the 80’s when I got a hardon for shotguns. I now prefer revolvers and it’s easier to hide my S&W five round special than an assault rifle.

ParticipantDon’t forget postage stamps.

The GOP are a bunch of idiots. There should be a voter registration booth in every gun shop. Not only do you have to be eligible to vote in order to buy a gun, but I’m assuming you’re motivated to buy a gun because you will also be motivated to vote in November.
Seriously, though. Forever stamps outpace inflation adjusted bonds, and a bunch of other asset classes. And they have an independent utility! I’m not arguing that guns and ammo aren’t valuable (they are), but don’t sleep on forever stamps.
