MickParticipantSpeaking as a registered independent, I naturally gravitate towards moderates, both Republicans and Democrats.
I like Senator John Fetterman. He seems intelligent, pragmatic, not a bomb thrower. He went to talk with Trump. So, of course, his own party wants him out of office.
Scoop: Dems plot Fetterman ouster
Rest assured, Fetterman’s not pro-Trump, he only voted with the President 6% of the time, and Fetterman’s lead accuser, Rep. Brendan Boyle voted with Trump 14% of the time.

ParticipantSimilar situation wit SW Washington Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.
Not your typical Dem, she and her husband run an auto repair shop. Actually run it, not just own it. She had grease under her nails when she left for DC.
True moderate, she defeated Joe Kemp, a big Trump advocate. She broke party lines on student loan debt forgiveness and immigration. She votes along party lines about 2/3 of the time.
Far left progressives want her gone, in spite of her moderate approach. She has a lot of support in her district, but a more moderate republican might unseat her next year. A moderate republican would definitely defeat a far left progressive candidate if she failed to win the primaries.

MickParticipantI hope moderates are on the rise, I really do. I think SF’s current mayor is doing a great job, particularly in comparison with his predecessors. Hopefully the city comes back.

ParticipantLook into San Jose’s mayor. He’s doing what’s best for his city, not looking at higher office. Lurie’s mom is giving a lot of money to the Yes on 50 folks, though.
Oh, and they’re thinking of primarying Fetterman because he won’t toe the line.

MickParticipantI couldn’t stand Liccardo. I can live with Mahan, a moderate Democrat.
One of the things I like best about Mahan is that he spars with Newsom. He’s not a fan. He’s challenged Newsom on crime (Mahan supported Prop 36), homelessness, drug addiction, Newsom’s stupid social media posts,
Also, Mahan wants to be Governor…
