FratBoySpikeParticipantMost accurate assessment of the current election I have heard.

FratBoySpikeParticipantI have some good friends that are most certainly conservative that chose Florida after the Camp Fire. Both of their daughters and their families also made the move. I retire and leave for Texas this Friday. All of my kids and grandkids are already living in Texas and a couple of my frat brothers are there too. Florida was really nice when I went to the Orange Bowl back in 2011 and Luck et al beat up the Virginia Tech Hokies, but I don’t have any family there.

FratBoySpikeParticipantI think it will be awhile before Texas turns blue, because my move to the Lone Star State (leaving next Friday or Saturday) involves 4 generations of die hard red thinkers and they still have common sense in Texas; something California outlawed shortly after Ronnie was Governor.
Deregulated power in Texas. My power bills are 1/2 to 1/3 of what I was paying to PG&E and I doubt my Texas purveyor of power will burn my house down!
You can most definitely shoot looters in Texas. The biggest decision isn’t whether or not to shoot the bastards, but rather, what to shoot them with…12 gauge, 6.5 Creedmoor, 357 magnum or 9mm?Currently, it is turning out that rarer calibers are readily available even though 9mm had always been touted as “you’ll be able to find ammo everywhere”…until you can’t.
Everybody I know that survived the Camp Fire that had options, chose Idaho, Texas or Tennessee. I’m sure some blue folks may head toward Texas eventually, but I can assure you, they will need to closet their militant liberal attitude for some time (see paragraph above related to shooting looters).

FratBoySpikeParticipantOh Hell Yeah! All that truth made me pop a chubby. I think I’m in love.

FratBoySpikeParticipantA lot of this article is surveying 101: shooting lasers to reflector prisms was industry standard for two dimensional measurements using Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) devices before the global positioning satellite constellation was implemented under Reagan. HP made some of the early EDMs, but foreign manufacturers took over the industry fairly quickly in the 70s and early 80s.
The problem for us survey types is that land mass locations are not static; think about plate tectonics for a second and you will understand why Caltrans and other similar agencies place epoch dates on their GPS measurements of their monument control. Relative position of monuments may remain nearly the same if they are situated on the same plate, but comparing relative positions of control monuments on different plates over a time interval was quite tricky before GPS.
Sorry for getting a little geeky.

FratBoySpikeParticipantThere is a reason they train police dogs to speak German!

FratBoySpikeParticipantIt is an issue until enough people wise up and abandon the platform. I gave up on social media about the time I bought my first firearm. Saw an interesting “documentary” on Silicon Valley this week on Netflix showing a number of techno- solutions to political problems. Several were intriguing including Peter Thiel’s offering where you can choose to join a “sovereign country” floating at sea of like minded people. Several of the solutions will do away with geo-political boundaries as we know them and competition/campaigns, for that matter. No more antiquated two party battles. Political affiliation is going to get more complicated or less complicated depending on your perspective.

FratBoySpikeParticipantI finally leave for Texas permanently in three weeks and couldn’t be more content with that life decision. In a crazy twist of irony, yesterday morning two houses up the street from my daughter and her family had some kind of domestic dispute see 15 police vehicles, 3 ambulances and two helicopters arrive on scene per my son-in-laws count. Now that’s what I call response!

FratBoySpikeParticipantI subscribe to a YouTube channel called, “Active Self Protection”. I didn’t own a firearm before 2016. Now I advocate CCW and CQC for friends and family. The pendulum might just be swinging toward frontier justice and vigilantism for a season. Hope I’m wrong, but better to be prepared than caught off guard.

FratBoySpikeParticipantPosty Mick. I chortled a few times with your word pictures… whoever is preparing Joe’s morning gruel and wiping his chin deserves a medal!

FratBoySpikeParticipantI suspect that free grand theft auto would be more popular than free call of duty. TakeTwo/Rockstar will probably add a “defund the police” feature to their games to make it more lifelike.

FratBoySpikeParticipantNaw. I was just too young to retire to tap my 401k without the tax penalties. I will be 59.5 years old on the 7th of August. I retire on the 31st of August. Four more weeks!

FratBoySpikeParticipantPerhaps “Uncle Tom Cotton” would give him a better shot.

FratBoySpikeParticipantDamn! I loved Wilford. I still eat oatmeal every day and often pop a chubby that I like to whip out and show to the family. Haha. I considered Wilford a modern Mark Twain. He reminded me of my uncle. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind to anyone at any time.

FratBoySpikeParticipantI see 99 views now, so maybe “they” fixed it. In any case, Detroit part deux.
