“The End of Global Security” is a nine-minute video from Peter Zeihan, a commentator on geopolitical issues with more than a dash of economics thrown in. Interesting take on what’s happened with the world from the post-WWII period through 1990 as American presidents purposefully built former enemy nations and Europe as they took our side in the Cold War, but also notes that the succeeding 30 years’ worth of presidents largely ignored foreign policy.
Has some interesting perspectives on developed vs. developing economies, with commentary on China, Brazil, Russia and others, including reshoring manufacturing; a demographic collapse in most of the world (not the U.S.),
He’s not a Trump fan (in other videos, Zeihan refers to himself as a “Green who knows how to do math”), but considers Trump middle-of-the-road with respect to foreign policy and a President who had made some very good decisions. Thought that Trump had trade negotiation successes with Canada, Mexico, Japan and Korea, and that one with the UK is coming.
