Mick1ParticipantI’m not saying all Democrats are weasels, not even that the majority are weasels. But some Democrat weasels get elected to do damage to the Democratic party, and they come from backgrounds that ill prepare them to do battle. They’re not intelligent, they don’t have positive ideas, they’re just destructive and idiotic. Yes, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes, when she came into office not knowing the three branches of government, and screwing over her own district on a high-tech headquarters with 25,000 jobs.
And now, David Hogg, the newest Democrat weasel.
He’s a gun control activist who turned a personal horrible gun violence incident into an undeserved Harvard acceptance. He has now pledged to upend Democrat primaries by funding candidates who will challenge “ineffective, asleep-at-the-wheel” Democrats.
He doesn’t mean that, of course. He means Democrats who don’t follow the 25-year old’s bidding. He co-founded Leaders We Deserve in 2023, a group that will spend $20 million in safe-blue Democrat primaries against sitting House members by supporting younger opponents. With the arrogance of youth, he is fighting against “…a culture of seniority politics that has created a litmus test of who deserves to be here.” He wants younger, more combative Democrats in office.
Traditionally, Dem Party committees (like the DNC) have not opposed incumbents in their own party. In fact, they’re set up to protect incumbents.
All DNC members except Hogg signed a “neutrality policy” pledging to stay out of primaries in either their personal or official capacities.

My favorite part of the article:
“What we are not saying here is, ‘Oh, you’re old, you need to go,’” Mr. Hogg said of older officials. “What we’re saying is we need to make room for a new generation to step up and help make sure that we have the people that are most acutely impacted by a lot of the issues that we are legislating on — that are actually going to live to see the consequences of this.”
Interestingly, Hogg expressed admiration for Nancy Pelosi (85) and Jan Schakowsky (80). Each of them have younger challengers, including Saikat Chakrabarti (39), former chief of staff to AOC who is running against Pelosi and YouTube influencer Kat Abughazaleh (26) who is running against Schakowsky.
