Alright, so Deshaun gets hit with the first six lawsuits for alleged inappropriateness with massueses. That was pretty bad but a lot of noise came out that the attorney filing the suits may have had reason to go after him. Watson was purported to be a “great guy” without trouble with the law or women.
At this point, there are like 14 lawsuits, all for massage therapists (I believe). My questions:
- How many different massage therapists does an average NFL quarterback use in a year?
- Does the existence of at least 14, female, massage therapists who have come forward with his inappropriate behavior tend to clarify that the guy likely has a problem? I mean, you have to wonder why an NFL quarterback was trolling for massage therapists on Instagram. Only 2 of the 14 lawsuits are about incidents outside of the city of Houston.
- Does any of it matter? I mean, lots of powerful guys have harassment claims against them (see Trump and Andrew Cuomo, even Biden).
I’d argue that the behaviors alleged to be exhibited by Watson are far, far worse than anything Cuomo has been accused of. That doesn’t make Cuomo any “righter” in today’s culture, but still.
(and, yes, for what little it’s worth, I find a lot of Cuomo’s alleged behavior to be old fashioned and loutish, but hardly criminal…calling a woman sweetheart is perhaps lame and old fashioned but is something you correct, not fire. The fireable offense may have been the first claim…asking the woman if she wants to play strip poker).

Bolstering Doc’s sex worker hypothesis, Now Deshaun’s attorney says he occasionally had sexual encounters with massage therapists. All were consensual of course.
Dude is probably in trouble. It’s probably one of those Kobe Bryant-this-happens-all-the-time-I-think-they-just-want-it stories. Except Kobe was only accused by one woman.
