Einstein traveled extensively and happened to keep a diary of his travels to Asia and India that is just now being released and published. Turns out he was quite normal in his racial and cultural views for his time.

The question the article fails to mention is whether the other races were just as racist in general, which as we know (thanks at the least to the Japanese), they were.

      All things in context.

What a great article, didn’t read the whole thing, under some time constraints presently- but I will say I know guys who wear rising sun cufflinks who agree with him about their neighbor to the WEST.  But hey, you want to hear some bigots if not racists, try the Soviets er, Russians LOL

“I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I

Spend a little while working almost anywhere other than the U.S., and you will know what racism really is.  I’ve worked with Scandinavians (who get a real pass for being very “egalitarian” and accepting refugees at high rates) whose racism would make you cringe.  Don’t mention the Russians.  Had one Russian employee who constantly wondered what all the fuss was about when it came to race because, well…

We are really sheltered by our own sensitivity and political correctness.  I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing, but like many things, it ignores the reality of the world.

Or just read some of the comments from the DNC!

Speaking of the Russians, a (female) Russian politician is warning Russians against sex with foreigners during the World Cup. Especially those who are of a “different race.”  The article describes a few concerns on racism in Russia, including an incident of a banana being thrown on the field at a prior match.

So a general lack of civility, respect, and engaging in bigoted stereotyping must be OK?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just think it's cute that you think yours really matters.

      Nah, unless you are POTUS.

Wasn’t sure where you were going with the comment, but the aspiration to mutual civility, respect, and individualism is the right one; but just like any aspiration it must be tested in the real world (meaning that others have bias, and to approach the world as if that isn’t true is to be naïve).
