The writer of the article is horrified that Musk wants to shrink the government. Apparently that’s a bad thing.
The Federal government deficit will be $1.6 trillion this year. Without change, it is projected to be $2.6 trillion by 2034.
The current Federal debt is closing in on $36 trillion. Total consumer debt as of Q3’24 was $17.943 trillion, up about 20% since 2021.
We need to cut back. Tighten our belts. Actually eliminate waste. But some people are vehemently against this:
