Thirty years ago, Fetterman would have been considered a typical Democrat. That party has drifted so far left, he seems almost obscenely conservative, at least from the point of view of the Israel/Jewish-hating Democratic Left.
To that point, the Democrats might not do as well in the mid-terms as they think:

Senator Fetterman and Senator McCormick genuinely like each other. When they do something good for Pennsylvanians, they usually appear together to announce it, and go out of the way to credit each other. Outside of Philly, Pennsylvania is kind of in the middle, even Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. Nationwide Democrats may want to boot him out, but unless Josh Shapiro is willing to cast aside his Presidential ambitions, there isn’t a popular Democrat with statewide appeal to replace Fetterman.
