Interesting. I thought Christie’s best days were ten years ago. He’s the one Repub who will aggressively criticize Trump. Christie has 9% support, DeSantis has 8%, Trump has 49% in the Emerson poll.

Christie pulls ahead of DeSantis in New Hampshire GOP primary: poll | The Hill

Trump is facing 91 criminal charges in four states:

      1. DC January 6 conspiracy and overthrowing the overall election. The DC judge who will preside has given out the toughest sentences for other January 6 conspirators.
      2. Interfering with the Georgia election
      3. Withholding federal documents at his home in Florida, trial scheduled for May 20, 2024. The trial is in a conservative area of FL, and he only needs one juror to forestall conviction and the judge is a Trump appointee who has already helped him out.
      4. Hush money payments to the sex worker. NY Trial scheduled for March 25, 2024.

The first two carry serious criminal charges. If Trump wins, he can end the Federal trials (DC and FL), but not the state trials. How’s he going to run the country from jail?

On the other hand, in an NYT poll, 71% of Republicans don’t think he committed crimes. Only 17% do. Some of them are likely to sit on juries.
