Garvey vs. Schiff

I didn’t see the debate. Apparently, it was fairly lively. Garvey has been low-key, he didn’t attend either the California Republican Party convention or the overall Republican National Convention.

Takeaways, third hand:

1. Garvey faults Dems for border crisis. Schiff “warned” of mass deportations. Schiff says border can be solved with more personnel and better technology and the country needs an immigration policy and undocumenteds need to have a path forward.
2. Garvey distanced himself from federal abortion ban, but says he’s against abortion.
3. They disagree on guns. Schiff wants to go after the NRA, wants to ban assault weapons and certain forms of ammunition clips.
