      I spent half my career in the legal profession, which is an oddly woke business. I say oddly because it is heavily populated by white males, particularly at the senior leadership level. Marketing and business development (my expertise) has become the one leadership area where white males typically hire non-white males, often in one particular demographic (see the CMOs pictured here: CMO Experience).

      Woke marketing is interesting in my business for a variety of reasons, but it’s particularly interesting in consumer businesses. We’re all familiar with the Bud Light fiasco. Now Netflix’s Reed Hastings public support of Harris is costing them subscriptions — in the industry’s lingo, an elevated level of “churn.”
