A fascinating story about our politics is unfolding in real time. Media Matters published a story on November 16th stating that the content offered by paying X advertisers was appearing adjacent to objectionable user content- racist or antisemitic. This article is the latest Media Matters effort to degrade the reputation of X.
November 20th Musk files suit in the Federal Court, Northern District of Texas alleging purposeful misrepresentation and subsequent financial damages.
Here is a Daily Caller article about the unfolding story. It includes a link to the Musk filing. It’s only 15 pages and is worth reading.

Fascinating here is that Media Matters generated the content they used in their article through a trial and error process conducted on the X platform. As a consequence, X/Musk knows precisely what was done by Media Matters to create “evidence” about how advertisers are damaged through their association with X.
Mick, what do you know about the lawyers Musk is working with?
Ps: the State of Texas has joined the fray. And after his recent impeachment, I suspect AG Paxton may feel he has a dog in this fight?

Near as I can tell, they’re top flight. Judd Stone graduated first in his Northwestern Law School class and clerked for Justice Scalia. John Sullivan graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, was Exec Editor of the ND Law Review, interned for the Chief Justice of the Dallas Court of Appeals and is the President Emeritus of the Dallas Chapter of the Federalist Society. Those are the two that you’d want in your corner.

“You can tell a lie with technical truths and that’s what they’ve done here.”
nothing characterizes 21st century politics more clearly than this statement.

Interesting. Judge Pittman, like Musk’s counsel, is a member of the Federalist society. He is a Trump appointee (and had prior nominations from Rick Perry and Greg Abbott) and is what I would consider to be an activist judge. SOme people think he overreaches:
