Nikki Haley has stated that she has no interest in running as a third party candidate. She has zero chance of beating Donald Trump in the primaries, but polls indicate that she has a 9% gap over Joe Biden, greater than Trump’s current 5% advantage.

Do you think Haley will mount a third party challenge?

I probably haven’t thought it through, but she probably would out Biden over the top if so. Manchin would have probably put trump over the top.

musing . . . why don’t the Dems replace Biden with Manchin, and a decent VP candidate?

She hasn’t endorsed Trump. Manchin, Sinema and Romney are all departing. The moderate wing of the GOP is shrinking.

Still, Haley received 31.7% of all GOP votes in the primary against Trump’s 63.9%. Curious to see what she will exact in exchange for her endorsement. Does she want to be his VP? Sec of State? Commerce? Interior? Labor? Curious to know.

I thought Haley’s showing was relatively strong.

I do think that we are seeing a hollowing out of the middle aisle.
