The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) has produced 33 debates since 1988, the first year it was in business. They were preparing for three presidential debates this year with a single vice presidential debate.
Biden’s campaign told the CPD that Biden wouldn’t participate in any of them. Instead, they created their own set of debates in June and September with their own rules which deviate from the CPD’s rules.
