Kshama Sawant finished third as the new Revolutionary Worker’s Party candidate for her city council spot. She blamed the Socialists for splitting the left wing vote so a mainstream Democrat and a *gasp* Republican advanced to the general election.

Wonder how much longer it will be before voters grasp the simple fact that “Government” really is not geared to fix problems.

After 40 years of West Coast states spending trillions on transportation, homelessness and drug related issues with little to show for it outside rare anecdotal success stories, I get the feeling local voters are still reluctant to vote for change.

My wife’s cousin is married to a wealthy venture capitalist who is based in Seattle. As soon as their kids are out of high school, they are leaving for either Florida or Texas.

She was a nurse, very sweet and kind lady, they’re both Democrats. But they can’t live with or support the craziness.
