Note – 10,000 ADMINISTRATORS???? With  only 7500 students and 2250 faculty? My goodness.

BTW, for those of you who don’t know, substack has become a very popular platform for independently minded thinkers who can’t find a voice elsewhere.  Andrew Sullivan hangs out there, with a blog he calls ‘The Weekly Dispatch‘.

This column is from Bari Weiss’ The Free Press‘. Both are worth the subscription.

The tone is moderate Right, but predominantly free thinking, which is how I consider myself. If you want to cheerlead for Trump, find another forum.

I wouldn't give you two cents for all your fancy rules if, behind them, they didn't have a little bit of plain, ordinary, everyday kindness - yeah, and a little looking out for the other fella, too.

So it and you are for “Free Thinking” as long as you don’t freely think favorably of Trump? No conflict there…

“I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I

      I get a dead link.

You want a good microcosm of “free thinking” that does relate to Bari Weiss?  Look at how Matt Taibbi has been treated since working on the Twitter files.  You would think he is Rush Limbaugh based on the Dem reaction, and reality is he has been left-leaning for years.

There’s a number of left-leaning individuals who are expressing right opinions. Bill Maher’s been doing that for a while.

My favorite is dyed-in-the-wool lefty George Carlin’s take on political correctness (a term not invented by, but popularized by Josef Stalin):

Best line: “Political correctness is Fascism pretending to be manners.”

There’s a difference between free-thinking and cheer leading

A major news network continuing to tout a theory of election fraud which no one believes is a good example of cheerleading.

You can make a reasoned defense of Trump’s executive successes without buying into the whole line of bullbleep. But few have managed to do that.
Try this Stanford’s War Against Its Own Students | The Free Press (thefp.com)
Beat me to it Mick.

Just being a Stanford dad, this saddens me.   Crazy thing is, if Stanford students were employees, Stanford could never exercise this kind of disciplinary nonsense.
