Mick1ParticipantInteresting article from Politico, urging Trump’s enemies to take an out-of-the-country trip when he gets inaugurated. The thesis is that they take Trump at his word and that he’ll go after political enemies.
Two things are interesting to me, one stated, one unstated:
- Unstated: politicians of all stripes go after their political enemies, but the Democrats really set the standard with their lawfare and “novel” use of legal strategies all in an attempt to paint Trump as an outlaw, while simultaneously ignoring or defending the anti-/extra-legal activities on the Left.
- Stated: Yes, laws were broken; e.g., when a journalist publicizes national secrets without proper authorization, they are liable. Now, of course, these are heroes on the Left. But…they’re actually breaking the law. Why shouldn’t they be held to account?
- There are people who trade off of their security clearances once they get into private life. They might lose their security clearances. Why should they have them once they get out of government? And are all security clearances acceptable?
