At his core, Trump is a salesman, the antithesis of the lawyers that dominate Washington and Sacramento. The media either doesn’t understand, or pretends not to understand, Trump’s essential personality — bluster and BS when it doesn’t matter, deadly serious when it matters.
And a taste for freeform negotiations. Lawyers are interesting…they don’t really negotiate, not really. They have positions to which they either adhere or discard. They find it difficult to adjust on the fly.
