This won’t get as much play as it should.  Biden literally told a bold-faced lie, and the White House had to walk it back.

Instead, it’s just “joe being joe.” Which, while true, would be far less a problem if the lie hadn’t been about his old friend Joe Manchin…the one guy with the current keys to the Biden agenda.

I’m not overly sympathetic at this point.  If health systems haven’t learned to deal with peak capacity in two years, they aren’t going to change their stripes.  Shame on the people who run them for not having covid surge contingencies that approximate last winter’s peak.

The media can scream all they want, but where are the health “leaders” to answer for such shortages at this point?  Do we need to spend another trillion to ensure we have a ready plan for field hospitals and other contingencies?  Hardly.

To your point, Omicron is “supposed” to be milder (and, as some are actually saying, might provide a means to much broader immunity in the near term).  I don’t trust all of those who say what any variant is “supposed” to be, however.  If someone’s disease is bad enough to go to the ER, then they should go.  If they are only in the ER because they are scared, then we have a media and messaging problem.

This has been happening for years. There are plenty of people who track “real inflation” based on prior measures. Orwell literally described this behavior (chocolate rations going up by 25 percent or something like that).

I think what is not being discussed is how lazy the fed is right now. Inflation has been likely for a long time, but the fed’s inaction is truly striking. The fed are still buying mortgage backed securities and we are in a full on housing crisis due to the pricing bubble.

some sane person has to take the punch bowl away. Please?

Kamala Harris is a great example of failing up.  She has underperformed for years both externally (votes) and internally (her own staff).  Everybody knows this, yet she kept getting opportunities.

It’s a great example of how profile overtakes personality and results in some circles.

    The customer is always wrong.

it must be really hard to find staff if you are protecting your staff in the face of armed police who are patrons.

Rubbish.  The Dems are far more protected by the traditional media providers (think NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN).

ALL new media providers are slanted criminally (MSNBC, FOX, not even mentioning OAN).  That’s where the money is.

They have said this from the start, to no effect on the hysteria.

I have moved our little operation away from contractors with the exception of a couple of trusted senior people. I relied heavily on contractors and independent consultants for years but found that quality goes down as opportunity set goes up for them.

South Africa saying it’s being punished. Pretty good take in my opinion. Country is transparent and gets travel bans.

My favorite quote:  “early warming suggests there might be a flaw in the models scientists use to predict how the climate will change.”

Oh, yeah, we all know the models were flawless before this singular study.

That’s fair rog. I was referring to the fact that there was no on the ground footage of the first shoot, and that the fbi filled that gap. For sure without the footage of the other two shoots he would be convicted for those. I mean, the media narrative was that all three attackers were unarmed even after people started noticing a gun in paramedic guy’s hand in still photos.  The news media didn’t follow that thread even with clear photos surfacing.

KR owes his life to bystander and fbi video. Crazy to think it has come to this.  Even with witnesses saying he was attacked, he would have been toast.
