I like your optimism, Mick. I really do.

First game jitters are real, and we will make big improvements. But so will everyone else. Usc and UCLA will come out swinging. Don’t know about Vandy, but you can’t count anybody out.

I’m actually more worried about our defensive front than I am about our qb situation.  We got mashed up front a lot, even when fresh, and we will face a lot more of that of our O can’t sustain drives.  Qb play typically improves a lot with game reps.  D line play doesn’t do that as much.  Look for a steady diet of off tackle runs by usc, vandy, and UCLA based on our k state game film.
Does anybody know much about inflation-indexed treasuries?
last time I checked they were yielding negative real, which kinda defeats the purpose.

So much for my flippant “they suck” about k state. Respect to them. We suck.

I can’t get over how poorly prepared our team was vs k state. We looked out of sync, hurried, sloppy, and soft.

On the bright side we are really good at getting a lot of 3rd and long reps (on O).

1h is done. Not much to write home about. 14-0 k state. Not much of a qb controversy. Tanner seemed to be a bit more crisp but then again west has always had that deer in headlights look.

our d got gassed at the end. No pass rush. Not sure we have k state where we want them.

We change the qb, gain a couple first downs, then bog and punt.

    yawn.

2nd d drive is more mush. Pitch and catch for 55 yards followed by qb keeper for a td with Kelly getting trucked. You win some you lose some but soft d usually loses some.

First d drive is mushy. Pitch and catch for the kstate o. Then Kelly nails it with the pick.

The game day guys were split. Some picked k state, some Stanford.  If you discount corso’s vote then they probably went kstate.

Oh, trust me. You ARE in front of the freight train.

Our economy has essentially become state run. The fed can dictate direction now that everybody is either drowning in debt or worried about their cash stash being devalued drastically.

My point of view is about the only way to position is to own cash producing assets that can adjust to inflationary pressure (eg equities or reits).

The question to ask isn’t whether Americans are left behind, it’s whether Americans who wanted to leave are left behind.

The first data point is mere propaganda.  The second is a tragedy.

I can’t ever tell how much of this sort of stuff is merely promo for the latest film.  That kind of news coverage is a sneaky way of promoting films all too often these days.

The Ross story sounds pretty typical of a person who probably didn’t know the value of what he had done and the following that he had.  The fact that my daughter, at 16, knows who Ross is has to to be a testament to the ongoing enterprise built in his name, and to the man himself.

However, that people are greedy when they have control is nothing new. Ask Zimbardo.

It has been a while since I read the book by the WSJ guy who exposed this whole sham, but I’m quite sure that the product (“Edison”) itself was only marginally used for a few tests, but that other tests were done by using “industry standard” equipment highly modified to use small sample sizes (remember, the whole schtick was that they could do labs from finger prick blook drops).  Those tests were statistically unreliable.

So, regardless of whether it was with her own product, or simply as a testing provider, she perpetrated a fraud of epic proportions that put lives in danger.

The real question on my grievance is whether she has successfully destroyed all of the testing data.  Last time I saw, it was inaccessible due to password self destruct.  That, my friends, is brilliance on the defendant’s part.

GR, I agree with you on the investor side. It’s hard to feel sorry for investors who didn’t do their due diligence.

Where I think she needs to be buried is on the product side. She endangered tens of thousands of lives to keep alive a fraudulent narrative. That alone deserves jail time.

If she had been making emoji software I’m with you. But she was hawking medical diagnostics and actually selling diagnostics that were inaccurate.

I for one think she is evil. It’s an interesting case study in how a young person can develop such a personality so quickly.

Doddering old fella. It’s really more sad than anything. He finally gets the job he always wanted and isn’t there to actually do the work.
