LegendKeymasterHoliday bowl would be exciting. Wonder what their win loss predictions are based on?

LegendKeymasterMy prediction for Biden’s next speech: “The buck stops right here at this podium…and let me remind you about my predecessor, who stood…right here, at this podium. It’s his fault.”

LegendKeymasterWhat’s the over-under on Biden’s next unscripted interview?
I’m guessing November at the earliest. That gives the press long enough to build him back better in the eyes of the easily deceived.

LegendKeymaster7 wins? I just don’t think we have the leadership / maturity to do that. Shaw has surprised me in the past, but I think we have been on a long trend of growing softer and softer.
I can definitely see us beating Vandy, but can also see it as a trap game after having to pound on USC, then travel and play an SEC team that will not be a pushover.
If we set a plodding offensive pace, I can easily see us slipping below 5 games. We are going to have to keep pace.

LegendKeymasterI added the board to the forum page. Give it a shot.
Also added what my uninformed prediction is for the season: Hint…it isn’t great.

LegendKeymasterI take a keen interest in stanford football, but got tired of the boards when being “honest” was considered a recruiting liability.
I will also say that David Shaw has made football less exciting over the past few years. That probably colors my POV on engaging much online.

LegendKeymasterThis was a good take I stumbled upon. I suspect he’s a right winger, but his take on the cynical straw man of Biden’s speech today (“we had to end this war / I would not pass it to another president”) is very aligned with what I saw.
Few people argue for another generation of fighting in Afghanistan. Most people are outraged at the botched pullout and evacuation, and especially at the betrayal of friendlies. Far worse than Trump’s so-called double cross of the Kurds.
I'm well aware that it's Political Damage Control 101 to create a principled straw man imperative to amplify as a deflection from the core issue, but the cynicism of @JoeBiden's remarks today are nonetheless striking. Every rational human in this country, be they for or against..

LegendKeymasterThey can’t help themselves on Trump, but when CNN is turning against Biden, you know he’s in big trouble.
What Biden is proving…again…is that Senators are terrible executives. Hell, Trump was an awful presidential personality, but a better executive in his own way.
And, at some point, everybody will realize that we had the answer in front of us for years. Why would Obama ever say something like the quote about never underestimating Biden’s ability to F*** it up. Why would there be a quote from Robert Gates on Biden being wrong on every foreign policy decision in four decades?
It’s because people know he’s incompetent. They know it, they said it, and Trump was so distasteful that people actually voted Biden president.
And now we have Biden, the incompetent.
He is what we thought he was.

LegendKeymasterI could open another board here for stanford fb only. Anybody think that would be of use?

LegendKeymasterGotta love leadership via rhetoric.
“The world is watching you.” That has teeth.
Yah, like the Taliban cared about that before all this, and so will care about it afterward. While we have a very good sense of how the Taliban will govern, they certainly seem to have the mandate of a lot of people in Afghanistan.
Pelosi’s empty words probably give solace to some people. But they are, like Biden’s July 8th PC, empty words. The Taliban will do what they want.

LegendKeymasterHumble my foot. Obama is a child of privilege if there ever was one. He was raised by his rich white grandparents and went to the best schools in the country.
Being raised by one’s grandparents doesn’t confer disadvantage.
Humble indeed.
Clinton had humble beginnings. Not sure any other president since Reagan did.
