I go away for a day and world war 3 is averted.

my take?  This was all orchestrated after Israel attacked. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Israel had damaged Iran so badly that the U.S. said “salvage what you can, we are sending a kill shot, and then this thing is over.”

Both iran and Israel took the deal

that’s realpolitik.  Kudos to trump the incompetent one.

I hope you guys won’t leave, but I understand. We’ve had a very long run and this little lifeboat of a website has served its purpose.

The CEB of old had some really good debate from some really smart people. I learned a lot.

as to your observations, Mick, I get it. I had a massive career shift more than a decade ago, largely driven by a backstab from a fellow executive female who was having an affair with the CEO. It has turned out great for me.  I took the leap into hanging out my own shingle and have been reasonably happy working with people I want to work with and building a really strong team of younger professionals in the process.

there are industries out there that don’t discriminate like you are articulating. And then there are those that simply think straight white men are bad. I don’t have any time for them.

Hey. There’s no active censorship on the site. It doesn’t like it when there are lots of links. I don’t know about attachments.

Try just linking once to the image you want to post.

Rocky left the site a long time ago because he swore I was suppressing his posts. It’s just wordpress trying not to allow spam, and I never could figure out how to turn off the filter completely.

im certainly not censoring you. You bring balance to the force.

There ought to be a law that paid speech is no longer free speech.  If you are a paid protester, you are a subcontractor or employee, not a free citizen.

Interesting graphic and even more interesting when you consider Biden was a 1-term president.

I find it hard to believe that a Presidential signature on an act of clemency has zero witnesses.  I have to have a notary show that I signed a legal document and you’re telling me the President can overturn a jury trial without even showing he signed a document?    That’s just astounding and to me it’s not a matter of presidential competency, it’s a question of moral turpitude of the people around a given president.  Imagine if a president lost his memory and then a staffer just decided to pardon all the murderers on death row!  That would be akin to a coup.

    Probably would never happen though.

Once you have drug zombies on streetcorners and people defecating in the streets, is there any lower to go?

People have gotten wise to the reality that owning an MTV-cribs worthy home is very, very expensive.

We have four A/C units in our house… built in 2008, the “premium” lennox units are always in need of repair. I can afford it, but would love to have a smaller house with half the complexity.

We have areas of our house that are almost never used.  It’s certainly a nice home but I could do with a fraction of the space.

Here’s a question…   What happens when Harvard is in front of the Supreme court?  Do justices have to recuse themselves who have undergraduate and graduate degrees from there?

I don’t like this move but it remains a political winner for Trump.

Pooling “best and brightest” with “antisemite bullies” is a mistake by Harvard.

I’m only slightly amused at Trump playing a hardline position with Harvard using rules no doubt written to prevent right-leaning racists from creating their own academic enclaves.   Hoisted with their own petard.

    Yes.

A public good became a money grab for a bunch of low capability administrators and their cronies.

    Next question.

On one level I’m a little sad for Bident that he couldn’t get more sympathy for his condition longer ago.  I mean that sincerely, since he has to have been under treatment for it for a year or two, but couldn’t reveal it lest he be asked to step aside.

On second thought, it’s a real shame a guy can’t step aside when it’s time.  The poor guy was addlebrained and cancer-ridden at the end.  His friends and family are evil.

I have a hypothesis that there are good, centrist Democrats who are fully electable in a general election.

    But…

They are totally ineligible due to the tendency of Democrat leaders (in ANY industry, btw) to exercise their ideological power over their practical power.  They would rather RUN a nutjob leftist (or in industry HIRE a poorly qualified identity) than actually WIN.

You can’t tell me that Amy Klobuchar couldn’t have been a better candidate than Kamala. Same w/ Shapiro.

In the funny way that CNN is to blame for the rise of Trump the politician, the Democrats are to blame for re-electing Trump.  They couldn’t get out of their own way.

Out of 50 nationally known Democrats, Kamala was probably the absolute worst option.

Something here for everyone to dislike.

I don’t like the idea of bringing consumer finance onto the government balance sheet any more than I liked brining student loans into it. Student loans became the next political patronage lever, imagine if every single consumer had government debt that politicians can play “vote buying” with

I want far fewer people dependent on the government for their financial well being, not far more!

We’ve become accustomed to debates where one side either acts or proposes to act and the other side just says “that’s retarded.”  It’s totally unacceptable in real terms…you’d fire a guy who does that. But here we are.

The Democrats, by only advocating for the status quo, are advocating for economic Armageddon; just not on their watch.

So, what’s the alternative approach to re-setting the global trade unfavorably to the middle class American?  What’s the alternative to the government led GDP lie we have been living?  What’s the alternative to drowning in government debt?
