LegendKeymasterSo I finally got around to reading the criminal complaint.
I think this is a really big deal. Clienesmith was all over the FISA warrants and then a part of the mueller team. He clearly altered a CIA memo to ensure it said what he wanted it to say—Big time evidence tampering. But, he was charged with a false statement in his plea deal. My guess is bigger heads are going to be taken by Durham.
In my opinion, Clinesmith alone has given clarity on the fact that the anti Trump elements would, in fact, act on their bias. A lot of folks have claimed that people like Page and Strozk could have their opinions and avoid acting on them, even if they say they would (strozk’s “we’ll stop him” text is telling). Greasing the skids of the FISA court application is tantamount to a crime against the citizens of the U.S. and should be considered very serious.

LegendKeymasterIf he’s the fall guy, then the Dems got away with it.
I think there’s more. The statements say he shared the un altered versions with others.

LegendKeymasterAgree with you bob. I suspect dog attack is somewhere between choke hold and gunshot.
its probably beyond taser too.

LegendKeymasterThis one looks less like a joke and more like a sad circumstance. Guy had a restraining order put in place by his wife last year, then they reconciled without having the judge dismiss the order.
There’s probably more to the backstory, but the officer ordering the dog to bite strikes me as use of force that should be questioned. A true dog bite is a fantastically destructive thing.
Nothing racial at all.

LegendKeymasterPeople are like animals, only smarter. We respond to positive and negative stimuli. It used to be that, in the absence of a state of nature where stupid act meant you paid with your life, stimuli for bad behavior was the direct and expected responsibility of the parent, and then social peers, and then police, judges, etc.
Nowadays, parents are taught that their children are special and shouldn’t get negative feedback. Local laws typically reinforce this notion by frowning on such tried and true methods as corporal punishment. That results in kids that are free to misbehave at best and full-on anti-social at worst. As they move on to peer and social stages of control, the worst receive very little feedback. Then, they end up in the judicial system, which is becoming more of the same.
We have confused “respect for dignity” with “tolerance for bad behavior.” We have emphasized “rights” without emphasizing “responsibilities.” A guy attacks a cop and gets shot. That used to be “expected.” Now? It’s a tragic overuse of state power. It used to be that an attack on a cop was an attack on all of us. Now? Nope. It’s an attack on oppression.
And, we will continue to reap. If we happened to be in a societal mode without the opiate of social media and nonstop streaming of porn, movies, and video games, our murder rates would be through the roof.

LegendKeymasterYep. Her baggage is going to be on display…bigly.
I don’t think Biden had a better choice, however. I disagree with your implied assessment of Warren’s “authenticity.” She’s a phony of the first order.

LegendKeymasterProbably the least controversial pick, and she doesn’t help Biden much. Californian, nothing on the big hot buttons of the day that are really positive (though she’s “of color” she has put more people behind bars for minor drug offenses than the average bear, she has limited / no foreign policy bona fides, and she will be viewed skeptically by a lot of the electorate due to the whispers about her rise), and overall really the woman of color equivalent of the empty suit politician. She goes where the wind blows (as it were).

LegendKeymasterI hope you are being sarcastic. I hope the democrats sue the administration to stop all these benefits.
While I don’t like the executive branch acting without the legislature, I can’t fault it in this case.

LegendKeymaster
“The Japanese were amongst the most racist/ ethnocentric people on the fucking planet. Right up there with the Germans.” Been to Japan twice. Once for work, the second for the Olympics in Nagano (spur of the moment). During the business trip, me and my white compatriots were refused entry into several establishments. “No Gaijin!” was the emphatic cry. . . .
I can hear it now: “It’s ok. It is just their culture to be racist. And, besides, we dropped the bomb on them so their hatred is justified.”
I’m very keen to understand and learn from history, and with that said, the Japanese had it coming. The Japanese warrior culture was based on a racial superiority thesis. It was no different than Nazi Germany’s.
While American “anti-racists” today worry about whether wiping their face with a brown paper napkin is a micro aggression, the real racists in China, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East laugh their asses off in private.

LegendKeymasterNeo beat me to it. Stocks are all there is in this environment. Sitting in cash is agreeing to be inflated out of your wealth. The usd is down about 10 percent since March.
Berkshire can sit on a bunch of cash because they are able to acquire at a discount to everybody else. It is their strategic super power. So, holding that cash gives them the ability to make outsize gains on M&A vs most of the rest of the world.
