rjnwmillParticipantSome “constitutional scholar” we had in office…
If he was called before a grand jury, in preparation for his appearance, could he have yet another set of Greek columns constructed behind the witness chair?
Are we as a people so very stupid that we’d return his mentally incompetent and self dealing consigliere to power?
I honestly can’t advance any rationale that would suggest that Biden is one of our 1,000 best potential office holders. For those who can advance that case, please help me and share your job description.

rjnwmillParticipant
R’s lose because their definition of exceptionalism includes alot of stupid crap, including a president that says he isn’t joking when he says, “Testing is a problem.”
Roscoe, you ignorant slut… I saw an interview with a political consultant/pollster, Frank Lunz. He attributes Trumpo’s polling problems to semantics. Words that don’t play with swing voters.
This has little to do with pronouncements about testing, policy or results. It’s got to do with semantics. Word choices. That’s the level of sophistication of the electorate.

rjnwmillParticipantI found this quote from the story to be a wonderful statement of the stupidity of our times…
“We are not going to kick the can down the road, push people out of public spaces when they have nowhere else to go,” Park Board President Jono Cowgill told the Tribune. “This is not a sustainable, dignified solution for folks who are experiencing homelessness right now, and the state needs to step up.”
If I’m not mistaken, over 80% of police funding is covered by local tax payers. They can reallocate their public safety funding if they choose. They can try to solve their homelessness problem with this revenue. I’m not going to lose any sleep over their decision to turn their community into an unlivable “utopia”.
But it’s a laugh that all these folks always think the answer is more of other people’s money; “the state needs to step up”. The state and local folks all face the same choice, the same absolute requirement as a fiduciary with responsibility for public funds. They have to live within their means. The alternatives are coming into sharp focus. Raise the taxes until the taxpayers bail or reduce your spending.
I surely hope the commitment to the fundamental responsibilities that are part of citizenship in a participatory democracy are sufficient to overcome the “more free stuff” crowd. I’m not at all certain it is. I fear the pandemic payoffs are underwriting the ambitions of the wrong team.

rjnwmillParticipantA Fox News analyst made two interesting observations about these notes.
- Strozyk was not at the meeting in question. I’d sure like to follow the bouncing ball on who told who leading to this memorialization. Too many people have claimed ignorance as to the genesis of this bs.
- “By the book”, a phrase attributed to Obama three times in the Susan Rice memorialization of the meeting is nowhere to be found here. How could that have been excluded as Rice asserts it was a point of emphasis?
On an unrelated matter, one of the Mueller attorneys who worked the Flynn prosecution, sought a leave to assist Nadler on the Trump prosecution. Such nonpartisanship.

rjnwmillParticipantFrank, it will be interesting to see if Sullivan requests an en banc hearing or if he slinks off and does as he’s told. At least he finally has access to Struzk notes FINALLY located and produced YESTERDAY? They are represented to be exculpatory for Flynn. This Sullivan guy loses either way.
Hardly a great cap to his career, either way.

rjnwmillParticipant
as you well know, social media can be tricky.
”Tricky” is an interesting choice of words. The problems here are multiple.
The Chinese are collecting a lot of individual demographic information that would be useful in an effort to influence politics or public policy. Use of that platform is a bad thing.
I don’t see either side releasing an accurate account of what happened and how effective it was. Two “Schiff style” investigative reports. Wonderful. Political narratives are anathema to sound public policy.
And surely what we need now is political “competition” in this sphere. Let’s have a reprise of 2016. These fools did nothing during three years of a presidency; Russia and Ukraine don’t you know. All BS. We don’t need them to focus on more reasons to squabble over power. Do your job.

rjnwmillParticipantThere’s no way to characterize the turnout other than disappointing. They had planned an outdoor rally for the overflow crowd. It was dismantled unused.
the advance team is going to hear about this…after the Orange One reads reports that it is a reflection on his appeal. He’s the Little Richard of politicians. Only he can be beautiful. 😉

rjnwmillParticipant
…What you just said is that Trump was/is using DACA as a weapon in negotiations.
Your sign on with Rocky’s assertion, which I agree with by the way, suggests the Orange One is playing hardball in trying to get the Congress to do their job. What a mean SOB he is. The House & the Senate are such collegial bodies, don’t you know. The Orange One should never offend their sensibilities.
Robert’s as the leader of a fully nonpartisan judiciary is such a “uniter”. After all, he just saw first hand how focused they are on discharging their responsibilities…the impeachment hearings. He sat on his ass for a month in the Senate listening to purely political bs unable to do his day job? He has sat on his hands as political pukes shut down the government using his FISA court as the political hammer. I forget, has the Chief Justice dropped the hammer on that folly?
I’m sure comprehensive immigration reform is the next thing on the agenda for our legislative betters, right after their kneel down in African robes…other than Nadler who couldn’t kneel as he’d never get up. Robert’s just wants business as usual…you good with that Roscoe…during times like these?

rjnwmillParticipantI beg to differ here. I don’t think much has changed.
Corporate managements have always seen themselves as world class chameleons. All things to all people. They see their self interest in laying down with the left…but attempting to maintain their virginity.
But let’s not lose sight of the obvious fact recently highlighted by Rick Grennell. These same folks, warriors for human rights, are strangely silent when profitable opportunities take them to countries that persecute gays, or religious minorities, or other basic human rights.
Let’s not look to chameleons for moral leadership. They have no core values. And so it has always been. Look no further than corporate entanglements in China, in Saudi Arabia?
