Should we expect the same people appalled by the murder of Jamal Khashoggi to be appalled by the attempt on Salman Rushdie?

Is there really a difference?

Creeping up? What is the WH doing well? It’s response to Monkey Pox?

Has everyone just thrown up their hands, saying “whatever”. A few weeks ago sleepy Joe had no control over oil prices.  Now, gas prices have dropped 8 straight weeks thanks to the President’s actions.   Good lord, they must think the American people are as dumb as Kamala.

I’ll ask the question to our little group- What has Biden done right?  Be generous.

And exactly how will the US protect Taiwan? Shake our finger and wear a somber face? We certainly can’t support military forces and the Navy would have to operate over the horizon.  Geez, does anyone have a treaty with them?

No, there will come a day when Xi or whoever decides to bring that petulant child back to nest, and it won’t take more than a day.

This may be the only thing positive about Biden.

I wonder how many actually differentiate media v cable and internet blogs.  MSM ceased reporting news year.  Like you said, it’s about eyeballs.  Its no longer about reporting, its about spinning a story and being “first”.
Greta going say we all going drown to death. I’m not going argue just perturbed the cure is worse than the disease.
Definitely.  Here in Washington, we are going to save the planet by taxing the hell out of anyone using fossil fuel.

https://www.thecentersquare.com/washington/washington-gas-taxes-to-nearly-double-next-year-under-carbon-program/article_5c2733f0-020d-11ed-b7b6-7b5de3a3cd2c.html

Can there be a bigger scam than cap and trade? “Passed by the state Legislature in 2021, the Climate Commitment Act – Senate Bill 5126 – directs the Washington State Department of Ecology to develop and implement a statewide cap-and-trade program to cut carbon pollution by requiring emitters to obtain “emissions allowances” equal to their covered greenhouse gas emissions.”

Similar to stocks and bonds, these allowances can be obtained through quarterly auctions hosted by Ecology.”

So, the state is selling allowances to save the planet.  Right.  Another new tax by a different name.

In other news, Jay Inslee and his minions have the Biden administration on board with removing hydroelectric dams on the Snake River.   There is some serious twisted logic to removing clean sources of power (when there is already a predicted generating capacity deficit) in order to save fish.  An additional twist is 10% of America’s wheat crop is shipped via barge on the Snake.  Transporting wheat would then be done by truck or train, a more expensive alternative to barges, and definitely less friendly to the environment.

Greenies look more like Keystone Cops chasing a bad guy while trying to save the planet.  All they can promise is higher taxes and a lower standard of living at a higher cost for the middle and lower class.

Fun times await…..

OMG, Newsome would destroy Harris in the primaries.  This is a woman who couldn’t even carry her own state in 3 years ago.

Let her run.  It will be fun to watch.

Vegas oddsmakers have old Joe not making it to the end of his term.

My bet – a very small wager – is power brokers get Kamala to step down.  Sleepy picks a new VP- Newsome? Klobachur? Booker? and then resigns for health reasons.

Hey, you can’t make this shit up.
“If the mob had been able to seize a hostage, Pelosi or Pence, the consequences would have been serious. I can guarantee you Trump would have tried to negotiate his way into a second term.” Probably the most ridiculous comment I’ve read in a long time. GR, are you actually Outsider Fan from TOS?
GR assumes Trump was in control of the mob and could make this happen.

The gun show loophole is the sale between private parties.  Washington closed that loophole (I believe Oregon has the same or similar law) in that any sale between private parties must be brokered by a Federal Firearms Licensee.  There is a 3 day waiting period on the transfer.

The left loves hyperbole, and they bring it in spades when talking about gun control.  https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jan/30/the-gun-show-loophole-myth/

Switzerland is a good study on gun ownership.  Estimates peg 75% of the population owns a hunting rifle, while 25% on handguns.  Switzerland  has a gun culture that works with training, regulations, and insistence on responsible gun ownership.

Agree with Legend on this, except I disagree with Noonan on Red Flag laws.  They sound wonderful, and would be useful if not abused.  Bottom line for me, Red Flag laws deny otherwise law abiding citizens due process. There is an opportunity for abuse by the over zealous.

Some time back, GR posited that LE knocking on the door and asking a few questions would be enough to dissuade potential mass shooters.  I believe this to be true.

I think about “The Minority Report” whenever Red Flag laws are mentioned.  Arrest the perp before the crime is committed. What the heck, lets put AI to good use.

My daughter-in-law is principal at Willow Glenn Middle school. We don’t talk politics, but she has a pretty clear vision of what schools should be and do. Keeping is short, Sacramento is out of touch. Kids can’t be kicked out of school for bad behavior, and now that same behavior can’t even be reported? Geez….

Hey Beeg Dawg, Mrs. Mick left the teaching profession for all those reasons. BTW, is she at the Willow Glen Middle School in San Jose? That’s about a mile from my house.
That’s the one.  Quick story…..

She was a student at Willow Glenn as well.  When we were introduced, she was teaching history.  I made some quip about “Welcome Back Kotter”, which she totally failed to get.  I mean, just because it was off the air before she was born? 🙂

In terms of traits, Suzanne Degges-White Ph.D., highlighted the 9 narcissistic traits as follows. The individual:

• Believes that he or she is special and unique
• Shows an excessive need for admiration.
• Has a grandiose or exaggerated sense of self-importance
• Possess a sense of entitlement
• Is jealous and envious of others
• Has a pattern of exploiting others
• Is arrogant and haughty
• Lacks of empathy

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) lists these nine criteria for NPD. However, an individual only needs to meet five of the nine to clinically qualify as a narcissist. In his testimony, Dr. Spiegel indicated that Depp displayed a number of these traits and went on to give examples of each, including a need for admiration, a sense of entitlement, fragile self-esteem, and a lack of empathy.

Not trying to prove he is or isn’t.  IMHO, working in the entertainment business makes one a candidate.

Justice would be served to force these two to spend their remaining years together.

Why let them fuck up someone else’s life?  They deserve each other.  Narcissistic bitches.

Ask me how I really feel…..
