BD you know I want interesting debate and conversation on here but all I got in response to your post is three words: Ha Ha Ha.
Not sure how to take that, but I assume its the humor you find in irony.

18 months ago Colorado was praised for passing laws to help illegals.
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/colorado-smashing-down-barriers-help-undocumented-immigrants-live-work-n1270215

Today, the chickens are coming home to roost.  https://dailycaller.com/2022/12/16/denver-colorado-illegal-immigrants-southern-border/

In the meantime, the not so lovable Newsom is crying over the influx of immigrants taking advantage of laws and social programs that benefit illegals. “Newsom claimed the U.S. government is sending “more and more” migrants to California because the state is “taking care of folks.”  https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/newsom-says-california-about-to-break-amid-flood-of-illegal-migrants-when-title-42-expires/ar-AA15gCWt

Go figure.  Reap what you sew….

And not one word from the left on how to stop it.  Mayorkas says the border is secure.  I wonder what his definition of secure is.  Certainly different than mine.

Seriously? Based on other polls, Biden’s approval rating jumped between 15 and 20 points.  This is based on Griner being released?

I guess Joe’s handlers called that one.

I wonder what the escape clause for the Migratory Bird Act is.  It’s been around for over 100 years, and has been modified 3-4 times.  It’s a treaty, so the White House can’t indulge in it’s usual fuckery.  (Or at least, they should not be able too.)

20 years from now, the greenies will scream greedy conservatives blocked construction of nuclear power plants in order to make big $$ on manufacturing and installation of solar and wind power stations.

I’m shocked.  Government hands out buckets of money and some of it was fraudulently obtained?

Holy stimulus checks Batman, what’s next?
I voted for Trump in the past…but I will never do it again. I like many of his policies, but he has too many negative character issues. Also, his recent comment about DeSantis just before the election was the final straw. I wish he would just fade away.
Brix- in 4 sentences, you stated exactly how I feel about Trump.  Right now he is the glue that holds the democratic party together. Seems like every political ad from the left in the last 3 weeks mentioned MAGA, Trump supporter or election denier.

    Trump needs to step aside…..
If trump were a team player, here’s what he should do: 1. announce a run for president. Not now but, say just before desantis 2. Act as the stalking horse for desantis… keep desantis in the news and to the left of “perceived trump” (I say perceived because trump was never a hard right pol). 3. Make it about exposure and favorable coverage for desantis, while doing his “trump” thing to rile the 15 % of the electorate that is “MAGA TRUMP” 4. Go through the primaries with a goal of winning a few but putting desantis on offense and keeping him in the news. The Dems are sure to have a primary fight in 24 OR they will have Biden getting plenty of pub. 5. Drop out and endorse desantis. Leaving desantis as a sane, logical, centrist choice against Biden or whatever other lefty loon the Dems put in place. this will never happen because trump is about trump. and, I agree he needs to get off the stage.
Trump is a team player on a one man team.
One good thing is that Trump was diminished a bit, and DeSantis was enhanced. I’m disappointed, but not devastated. I just hope Trump stays away from the Georgia runoff.
Diminished a bit.  Did anyone he endorsed win?  The election deniers got boat raced.

Oregon is having it’s own brush with liars – er liberals.   The governors race is up for grabs, Ron Wyden is actually campaigning on his record (shocking) and its looking like there might be a few new conservative legislators in Salem and DC.

Toxic Tina Kotek would probably be a landslide gubernatorial winner any other year.  She is so far left she makes Kate Brown look like Ronald Reagan by comparison.  There’s a bit of a dust up between Brown and Kotek over school closures, homelessness and rising gun violence.  Kotek tossed Brown under the bus after she (Kotek) got Brown’s endorsement.  The current governor decided to defend her record, which made for some interesting snipes between them.  Like Whitmer, both have serious memory lapses about who did what and when.

Knight contributed $3M dollars to the two candidates running against Kotek.  Didn’t take more than a New York second for her to whine and pledge to clean up campaign financing.  I guess big money donors are OK if the funds are  going into your  war chest and not your competitors.

Biden and Liz Warren were in Portland campaigning in the last two weeks.  I feel sorry for Biden.  The dude has lost whatever fast ball he used to have. (Not much to start with.)  Warren is a piece of…..work.  “Don’t let Oregon go red” was her rallying cry.  There was lots of praise for Kotek’s plans to fight crime, end homelessness and provide free community college for everyone.  No details of course, but by golly, Tina has a plan.

“SEC proposes Anti-oil rule May 12, 2022 Biden cancels remaining lease sales.”

Silly me.  I thought the SEC was supposed to be non-partisan. Like the DoJ, IRS, FBI, Military…..

    What? Oh, never mind.

Rule of thumb I apply to Portland area projects. Take the initial estimate times 3 and you are close to the final cost.  I see NASA is following the same model.
