Locally, there are a growing number who simply ignore the mandate.  Customers and stores alike.

Well, I bet there would be some awkward moments between Harris and Kavanaugh. I’m not seeing a Ginsburg/Scalia kind of friendship happening with those two.
I haven’t given up on the CEB, but I am overwhelmed with work and other personal issues in the last year with no end in sight so I just barely have time to read occasional updates. Once in a while I’ll try to engage. But it’s also tough being the only sane person on here 😉 kidding.
We know you are kidding.  Everyone here knows you are anything but sane. 😉

Basic information is lacking.

How many new cases are vaccinated?
How many new cases result in hospitalization?
How many new cases require a stay in ICU?
What is the current length of hospital stay with new cases?

https://www.cnet.com/health/medical/can-you-tell-which-covid-variant-you-have/

Bottom line, health “professionals” have little to go on when declaring a new infection is omicron.  There is simply to little data and too much speculation to accurately state how many infections are omicron.

Bingo.  Was thinking just that before I read your post.  The only box left unchecked for Kamala during vetting process was “Qualified for the job”.

Last census data has PDX population at 8%  AA.  A big irony with Portland is locals see themselves as inclusive, open and a real life example of the big tent principle.  Well, PDX is a big tent until you think differently or view life differently than the white, puffy, wool pants wearing and Subaru Forrester driving folks that live here.

Nope, that makes you a narrow minded, racist, hater, stereotypical old white man.

Is anyone keeping track of Joe’s lies like they did with Trump? Oh, never mind. Just me being silly.

No doubt they will be welcomed back – fully armed – when an off the rails meth head starts slashing customers with a knife.

Holy sheet! So Fox dominates cable news networks by a few points? Maybe that’s because 1) liberals don’t have to watch cable news to get their daily dose of conservatives are bad 2) Far right leaning conservatives have no where else to go. This is so fricking ridiculous I thought this was something from the Onion.

“But sooner or later, Joe Biden has to make this more than a referendum on himself and his presidency and instead make this a stark choice between two very different ideas and philosophies.”

Hmmm.  Interesting strategy.  Attack those who oppose idealistic programs and philosophies that are failing.  Demonstrably.

If this is the strategy dems to choose to pursue, I think it will end badly for them.

And of course, there are riots in Portland.  The whitest city in America, rioting because a white man killed two other white men.

doh!

“It is complex. You don’t consider personal freedom issues when misguided policy is being implemented.”

Consistent liberal mantra.  We must sacrifice freedom for safety.

Washington State is trying to implement an income tax by brute force.

https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2021/may/14/chris-cargill-state-income-tax-adopted-by-one-vote/

Note with the addition of this new tax, there is NO CHANGE to the state sales tax system.  Washington is in a race to join Cali as one of the highest tax states in the nation.

I’m fascinated that no one mentions the land bridge between Asia and NA that existed until 15-20,000 years ago.  The Bering Strait was a dry land path between NA and Asia.  Rising oceans obliterated the land bridge long before humans became dictated to fossil fuel

Oh yes, the old “guns” bogey man as explanation for deaths in the US.  Always starts and stops with guns.

The prevalence of diagnosed diabetes increased from 0.93% in 1958 to 7.40% in
2015. In 2015, 23.4 million people had diagnosed diabetes, compared to only 1.6 million in 1958.

How about starting by attacking obesity?  Obesity across the board is up almost 50%, and chronic obesity has doubled.  Americans overeat because we always have food available.  Without portion control and an addiction for fructose corn syrup sweetener, obesity is taking a toll on all age groups.

In the meantime, pass me a doughnut.
