    meh.  🙂
An attractive young lady interviewed for an admin job (20 years ago.)   I thought her email address looked like a web address. Yep- Full on lingerie model.

Fortunately, she disqualified herself by answering her cell phone a second time after I asked her to turn it off during the interview.

Thinking back to my first office job in ’73, micro minis were a thing.  🙂

    The reader comments are priceless.

Kamala running and probably winning will be the final nail in the West Coast’s coffin.   I say west coast because it is hard to discern one entrenched left liberal super majority from another.  I believe there is a weekly conference call between governors of Cali, OR and WA to exchange creative ways to milk taxpayers.

Mick, your story reminds me of the baseball strike in 94.

Young Dawg (10 at the time)  was talking to his grandfather about the strike.  His question – that grandpa couldn’t answer – was players make a lot of money.  Why do they need more?

It’s hard to see the difference between this policy and what you’d get if a bunch of 10yos locked the teachers in a closet and rewrote the rules.”

I’ve got 8 yo granddaughters, and they object to you baseless and unfounded characterization.  They would laugh at this, stating it looks more like summer vacation than school.  Of course, mom is a public school principal.

My dining and living room are the most under utilized rooms in the house.  I could board up access to those rooms and never miss them, about 800 sq ft.

Looking at median home prices, cost per sq ft has not gone up that much since 1970.  Median home price in 1970 was $24,400 for a 1500 sf home.  CPI adjustment puts that home at close to $205k today.   Today’s median home is 2200 sf, with a median sell price of $420,000, or roughly $190 sf.

These are not typical California or any west coast metro numbers, but it shows home prices may not be as crazy as they seem.  New construction on that 1500 sf home today gets you $285k, which is not surprising when factoring in permits, fees etc.

Interesting to read differing accounts about who knew what and when regarding Biden.  Jake Tapper’s indignation is laughable.

So here is one more point- 14 months ago, Biden gets a clean bill of health.  Today, he has stage 4 Prostate cancer.  Nothing to see here, move along.

So….when Fetterman was running for Senate it was off limits to discuss his health and ability to serve.  Today, dems are alarmed he might not be in full control of his faculties?

Seems the only thing missing is a poor performance in a debate and you have the “Get rid of Biden playbook part II”.  His health was fine until he became a liability….

California does not look quite as impressive when you take Chevron, Meta, Tesla and Google out of the picture.  Chevron is already out the door, the left is hell bent on destroying Tesla, Meta and Google could leave tomorrow if they choose to do so.

Since 2019: Over 200 companies have relocated their headquarters out of California, including major firms like Chevron and Hewlett-Packard.

In 2023, corporate tax revenue was approximately 50% below forecast, partly due to businesses reducing their presence in the state

Movie production is abandoning LA, finding states other than California much less expensive. Ben Affleck recently blasted Newsome about his lack of support for the movie industry.  Rob Lowe noted it was cheaper to fly a hundred people to Ireland than walk across the parking lot to film at Fox.

Ranked per capita, Cali comes in fourth, well behind New York, Massachusetts and Washington, but just ahead of Connecticut, North Dakota and Alaska.  California’s GDP as a percentage of US GP suddenly does not look as impressive when figuring in it’s percentage of the population.

OK, I read this 3 times.  Twice to make sure it wasn’t from the Onion or Babylon Bee.

For the record, Todd has been blasting Demo Party elites, commenting the rise of Trump has been 10 years in the making as the party failed to address key concerns for most Americans. I assume this is code for DEI, Immigration and reproductive rights.

Blaming party elites and water carrying pundits for covering up Biden’s cognitive decline makes me wonder what type of “journalist” Todd really is.

Mick, seems like a lot clerical errors are happening.  Letter to Harvard and another DoD messaging melodrama as recent examples.

A different take on the Harvard dispute.  It is fascinating to me that so many businesses and universities just rolled over and spread their collective legs when Biden (aka someone in the WH) issued Executive Order 13985.  While the EO did not explicitly state there would be a loss of funding, there was an implicit threat of less favorable treatment in competitive grant programs with a potential loss of funding.

Just my opinion, Trump would have been better off to quietly end EO 13985 and let the DoJ loose, asking universities such as Harvard to explain how their DEI programs, which offer special rights and protections to a small group of individuals, is not a violation of the 1964 Civil Rights act.

There are some who think denial is a river in Egypt.  Had she campaigned longer she might have lost a couple of marginally blue states.  Did she fail to notice her popularity started to slide as soon as voters realized what an empty vessel she is?

“The US used to have a major soy bean market. We lost that because China retaliated to U.S. tariffs and imposed a 25% tariff on American soybeans. By the end of 2018, U.S. soybean sales to China had plummeted by 94% . We ended up spending a fortune subsidizing farmers. The soybean business in the USA has never fully recovered and China still gets most of its soybeans from Brazil now.”

Please share where you got 94%.  Soybean exports to have been 29 MMT +/- 4MMT per year since 2010. Exports fell to a low of 8 MMT in 2018, rebounding to 32 MMT in 2021.  It is true China has increased soybean exports from Brazil each year since 2010, in large part due to favorable currency exchange rates, Chinese investment in Brazil and China’s policy of diversifying key import sources.

Soybean exports to China have never been more than 1.5% of total US Soybean exports since 2010.

My export numbers are estimates based on USDA, Chinese customs, and trade data.

I wouldn’t call Trump’s politics pro Russian, more like pragmatically cautious with a guy who despises the west and has his finger resting on a GO button to the second largest nuclear arsenal on the planet.

I am interested in how you would contain Putin.  Care to share?
