Hope California (Bay area and LA) elects her a governor for life and California secedes.  How fun watching CA operate on solar power and no manufacturing.

If the liberals ever pay attention, they would stop reacting to everything Donald Trump says as “Trump’s plan is …..”.

Adams has it right, just not for Gaza but for his other outrageous ideas.  Trump throws out an idea and suddenly the opposition starts floating plans and ideas that would otherwise take years of “thoughtful discussion”, aka – kicking the can down the road – before anything substantive happens.

Interesting that you equate an agreement between European countries made in 1938 to a phone call between Putin and Trump.  Looks like Clinton’s Budapest Memorandum was closer to the Munich agreement than anything Trump is offering. As a reminder, Russia was signatory to the Budapest memorandum, agreeing to not threaten or use military force or economic coercion against Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. How is that working out?

You are quick to criticize any and all things Trump.  What are your suggestions for ending the conflict?

    Interesting.

As of January 2024, the U.S. Jones Act–compliant fleet comprised 185 vessels, including 56 tankers and 23 container ships.

This reflects a decline from 1980, when the fleet had 257 ships.

Interesting analysis of the Jones Act.  Eye popping difference in numbers between US and Chinese cargo vessels

The only plausible explanation for the lefts outrage at DOGE and Elon Musk is it exposes how corrupt and filled with graft our aid programs have become. I don’t believe auditors will have to  dig to deep before kickbacks and bribery are exposed.

Eliminating unauthorized programs and and recovering funds for payments made in error would erase 865B from the deficit.

For those who cry about the good these programs do, here is a gem of a gem.

    – 70% of jobs created in the government sector

    – 99.2% of jobs going to foreign-born workers

70%?  Good lord, it was bad enough when it was reported 25% of new hires were government jobs.  Is the difference more Bidenomics sleight of hand?

IMO, Trump is fighting an uphill battle.  He is trying to head butt wording in the 14th, twisting to suit his own definition.  Courts have ruled on this several times, each time ruling against what Trump is trying to do.

Again, just my opinion, he should accept birthright citizenship for those whose parents are here legally.  That would be green card holders, those with visas, etc.

Seems like he would have a shot a winning the argument those who are here legally ARE under the jurisdiction of the US.
The new mayor Lurie in San Francisco is apparently going to attempt to fix the hash that London Breed (and generations of Democratic leadership) made of the city of San Francisco. He’s saying the right things. We’ll see if he can actually deliver:

    • Reduce bureaucratic bloat; e.g., SF has nine homeless outreach teams, five departments that touch homelessness and more than 100 contractors who provide homeless services.
This is similar to what I found in Portland/Multnomah County.  It is impossible to get more than a close estimate of money spent on homelessness.  One contractor is paid $26M annually to remove tents, tarps and hazardous waste while the county hands out over 24, 000 tarps and 6500 tents.

In terms of financial expenditures, a study by ECONorthwest found that more than $500 million was spent on homeless interventions in the Portland metropolitan area in 2023. Best estimate, this is roughly $84,000 annually per homeless person.

    Drain the swamp.

LA has a model to follow if they are smart enough to do so.  I doubt they will.
Heard on KCBS radio this morning that there is another move afoot for California to secede from the Union. The reasoning? Trump and MAGA. How perfect would that be. Become independent and be governed by Kamala. Exactly what the state deserves.
California.  Staggering debt, ineffectual leaders and a $50M slush fund set aside for the express purpose of fighting Trump, specifically his immigration policies.

Amazing, but making Trump the bogey man directs attention from the real problems.
