ParticipantI don’t have any sympathy for that lying, posturing, pontificating boob. Maybe he can face down the Taliban like he thrashed Corn Pop.

ParticipantIt is shocking how weak the Democrats’ bench is. There is not one strong leader in that group. And there are several horrible human beings.

ParticipantAnd he unilaterally voided the will of the voters to eliminate the death penalty. Apparently, the parole application of Sirhan Sirhan will be unopposed.

ParticipantLeaders are rare. This administration is actually an example of negative leadership. This is not just the absence of principles and perseverance. The guy with the aviator shades is playacting; trying to pretend to lead. Instead, the country is collapsing on every front. The administration has created crises in every area on which it has acted. And Biden himself is a dissembling fraud. Those who manipulate him are a very dangerous combination of arrogance and ineptitude. They are radical activists who think that politics is the only process that matters. They have no connections to spiritual meaning. They value only political victory and any non-secular values are not recognized other than as rhetorical platitudes.

ParticipantNot sure of the details underlying this chart, Rogpodge, but it reinforces one of your points.

ParticipantYeah, but they’re gonna get OPEC to help us keep oil prices down. They’ve got that going for them . . . .

ParticipantWell, woke folks can be bigoted against blacks and other minorities as well:

ParticipantWell, the Democrats probably think it is about authoritarianism, which is ironic given Nancy Pelosi. What I think it is in its most abbreviated expression is “America First”.

ParticipantAnd a corollary to #5 would be that all children are allowed to make adult decisions.

ParticipantProbably just a coincidence. [wink]

ParticipantTwelve guns were recovered in the aftermath of Jan 6. None of them had been fired. Rioters were arrested that day and many were hunted down across the country and brought back to face justice. Many of these morons were placed in solitary and have been held there since they were arrested. Not a single person was seriously harmed by the mob. Many, like BT, probably assert that Officer Sicknick had his head beaten in with a fire extinguisher, or if they actually know how to read, they have learned that he died of a stroke. Those who get that far, desperately assert that he was maced by rioters, which caused the stroke, a blind assertion with no evidence. On the other hand we cannot even learn the name of the Capital Hill security guard who shot and killed Ashlii Babbitt.
Even mentioning the Capital Hill riot in the same context as 9/11 is deeply offensive to the thousands of victims who were murdered by true terrorists. It is revealing to point out that OAC and Nancy Pelosi were back in the House a few hours after the attack.
In the meantime, vicious murders took place around the country throughout the summer. Many of those rioters, if they even were arrested, were released without bond within a couple of hours. What is the status of the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator who killed David Dorn in cold blood in an ambush?
As to the Steal the Vote narrative, I find the vehemence of panic at the mere mention of an audit of the vote to be indicative of the true concerns of defenders of the election results. There was no such resistance to Hillary’s illegal efforts to cancel the 2016 results. In fact, most leftist activists did everything in their power to advance her agenda.
The fundamental concern with the 2020 election is the fact that the election laws of many key states were changed meaningfully without the involvement of the relevant state legislatures, a flatly unconstitutional approach. The fact that the courts refused to hear many of the resulting cases was more the result of their discomfort with perpetuating a seriously disruptive process that could destabilize society. It has done that anyway since people adamently want answers.
It is the sheer desperation of the Democrats to shut down any audit or review that stinks to high heaven. What on earth terrifies them? Every step has been met with obstruction and delay. At the same time their national leaders in the House and Senate have moved forward aggressively to make permanent these voting procedures that are causing so much distrust and disruption.
I do not think that voters around the country are deeply aware of the staggering importance of this issue. Democrats are winning the PR battle on this and have succeeded with people like BT in convincing them that there is nothing to the concerns of people like me. To use the terminology of the Left, this is an existential event. If they were able to enact HR 1 and S1, our country will have crossed a threshold from which it will be very unlikely to return.

ParticipantJohn Durham’s report should be out in about two months.
I kid. People on the right have been saying that for two years. However, I am surprised that he is still working away on his assignment.

ParticipantI overstated the point. I apologize. I had seriously understood it to be the case that no guns were seized. I did not realize that twelve guns were confiscated.
Cornfed
ParticipantThere was not a single gun confiscated at the Capitol Riot on 1/6. The only person shot was one of the rioters. And the terrorists on the far left have the audacity to talk about the threat Trump poses to democracy.
Can gaslighting cause permanent damage? I feel like I’m living in an asylum.

ParticipantBTD, this is pure deflection. Provide a link to a responsible source that proves this assertion.
