ParticipantThat kind of commentary, willful and malicious, is a central element of the rot in our current society.

ParticipantEach new trait creates a new category. First woman. First left-handed person. First person with a lisp. First person of no color (albino?). And then we create specific protections for each category to address the horrific trauma that has been imposed on, say, those with uncut toenails. After an infinite number of rounds of this nonsense we will, each of us, qualify to be treated as an individual.

ParticipantSeems like an unfortunate soul with very serious emotional issues and/or substance abuse issues. I feel bad for him and anyone around him. I hope he eventually gets the care and treatment he needs before he does too much more damage.

ParticipantJury probably just having trouble working their way through the 40 pages of jury instructions. lol

ParticipantTrying to market reality? That is a concept that will never get off the ground!

ParticipantI have read that our navy is still vastly superior to that of the Chinese. Their navy is lacking “deep water capability”, whatever that is. Don’t have time at the moment, bit I’ll google it later. Or maybe DuckDuckGo it. 😉

ParticipantFauci is not an evil guy. He’s a typical government bureaucrat. He’s been caught grandstanding and it is amusing to listen to him play “what the meaning of is is” games.

ParticipantUnrealized capital gains are not income. A tax on unrealized gains is not authorized by the constitution. If we start trying to impair wealth creation, the impact on innovation will be significant. America will have lost much of its dynamism.

ParticipantNot to mention that first they flush half the Spring runoff out to sea.

ParticipantChina is facing several very major problems in several basic areas of their nation’s ability to function. The attached discusses the severe water shortage currently going on which is expected to get much worse. The video mentions climate change, but that is probably only a rounding error effect. A passing reference is made to the growing population that will increase demand. That is not true. China is going to face a debilitating shortage of workers in the foreseeable future. Their demographic age mix is wildly distorted by the “one child policy” of the past. But that is a topic for another time.
The Chinese leaders have mismanaged their existing water supplies and have dramatically worsened the looming shortage. There is a better video further below, but it is over 20 minutes and I didn’t figure folks here wanted to spend that much time. People who tout China as a shoe-in to surpass the U.S. in virtually every measure, have not examined the plethora of problems the country faces; many far worse than any lying ahead for us.

ParticipantKansas is favored by 3, right? Yet the ESPN estimate right now is that Stanford has a 56.8% chance to win. Isn’t that kinda weird? Does that happen a lot? I presume different organizations are providing those figures, but still, you would think the team that is favored would be more likely to win.
By the way, the over/under is 53 so, with a 3 point spread, the estimated final score will be 28 to 25 in favor of Kansas. I will be interested to watch the game tomorrow. I really didn’t watch last year’s covid-wracked season. All the games felt like pre-season or exhibition games.
From what I’ve read, the game will be largely determined by the running game and each team’s respective ability to stop the other. Apparently, our run defense is suspect (and that is, I think, a euphemism). But our run offense is strong. I think it might turn out to be a good game to watch.
