Yeah.  I won’t name names, but there is one person on there who thinks his shit don’t stink and posts a bunch of crap.  Covid and football.  He’s an expert on everything.  Just ask him.  Course, I can’t respond.  That would violate the Terry Rule.

I actually like that the board is apolitical.  Except, of course, it isn’t……

Has there ever been this many studies.  I don’t pay attention to them.  They are all over the place. The greatest example of “too many chefs spoil the broth” that I’ve ever seen.

It represents a major blow to Amazon, which fought the passage of a so-called “head tax” in 2018.

It’s all in how you frame the issue. …..

I thought the Mayor’s comments were spot on.  The reporters lead in, on the other hand, was awful.

Why not? He’s as qualified for the job as Trump was in ‘16.

I think a big partof it is reaction to Trump”s “what, me worry” bullshit.  He won’t sound ANY alarm. Acts as if it’s just an annoyance that will go away. So we get the over the top fearmongers in response.

The mask thing was the last straw for me with Trump and this virus.  His “stance” on masks was pathetic.  They are a minor inconvenience.  And they very well may save some lives.  What was the downside of saying “wear a mask”?  Just from a pure risk benefit analysis.

Another memorable movie line :  “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.”

(Admittedly not as “crisp” as “Frankly my dear…” As it has various iterations

True Legend.  In a lot of ways, it’s all a guessing game.  Which makes it that much more frustrating.  And worrisome

Certainly more testing means more cases are caught.  So that is a factor in the rise. Which is why I look at the percentage of positives tests on total tests.  That number has risen slightly in Bay Area.  Significantly in LA. And even more so in some states (Ariz, Texas, Fla being the poster states for this).

Muncie was the best college running back I ever saw in person.  That includes OJ.  The three best all around backs I’ve seen are Muncie, McCaffrey and Nelson.  I can’t choose between Darrin and CMac for no 2.  But Muncie wins because he could do what they did.  And he went about 225.

I have to wonder since ‘22 how many have made that association. Did the mascot look like Clark Gable…….

Well then, why did both the Gov and Mayor essentially support CHOP.  If it truly goes against what the majority of their constituents believe, they should pay at the next election.  Of course, Washington and Seattle are like Calif and SF one party states/cities.  So they can get away with this crap and not bat an eyelash.  And they can say : “yeah a couple people got killed and property destroyed.  But by Buddha, we aren’t Republicans.”

We have had a “strange” relationship with China for decades.  We never looked at them as the type of threat that we saw in the USSR or even in Putin’s Russia.

We essentially built their economy.  Manufacturing etc.  I was stunned when I heard that China manufactured something like 85% of the antibiotics we take.  I once heard someone say something along the lines of (Id be more vague on source etc were that possible) that we always believed that spreading capitalist concepts would lead naturally to spread values of freedom and liberty. And that China blew that notion out of the water.

We simply couldn’t resist cheap products and a billion and a half potential consumers.

Its a mess.  Agreed. Largely one we helped create.

Agree.  No other Mayor could have got PacBell/AT&T/Oracle built.
