LegendKeymasterButtigieg has been a tone-deaf disaster as a cabinet member. He’s truly the best example of an idealogue trying to do real work for the first time in his life.
He responds to a train wreck with platitudes about politics and union rules.
My favorite was his taking paternity leave for an extended time during the worst supply chain snarl in recent memory.
I think he’s damaged goods just based on that alone. Do you think Hillary would have taken maternity leave? Hell no…she would have eaten her babies to get into office in the first place.

LegendKeymasterIt never really left, we just have data that is manipulated around milestones like elections and state of the union addresses.

LegendKeymasterPredatory lending is one of my biggest peeves. It, like state sponsored lotteries, depends on people to be really bad at math.
It’s unbelievable to me that people will accept a 30 plus percent interest rate on purchases of anything short of a life saving procedure.
And you are right, people will line up to access the credit.

LegendKeymasterI’ve been reading a book called “The end of the world is just the beginning” by a guy named Peter zeihan. He has a lot of interesting and provocative ideas about demographic impacts on economics and social policies including globalization.
One of the things he explains clearly is the drop in value of children as economies mature. It’s an interesting take and one that certainly points to why the U.S. would put children last in so many policies.
Covid policy has been a tragedy for kids, but it’s a consistent thing in the U.S. the baby boom generation has leaders that are quite possibly the most selfish and narcissistic in the history of the world. Look at trump and Biden, pelosi, Feinstein, and the other oldies that just won’t go away. There is no grace in that generation of leaders that says “you know what? I will step aside.”
It’s a stark and sad reality that bill Clinton, who was inaugurated 30 years ago and who left office in 2001, is younger than Joe Biden.
how can a generation that doesn’t trust its own kids to govern decide that children are important?

LegendKeymasterRittenhouse was not a threat to Huber, was running away, and did not instigate the confrontation. Huber assaulted Rittenhouse with a deadly weapon…missed…and unfortunately paid with his life.
There’s a lesson here. It’s called don’t bring a club to a gun fight.

LegendKeymasterThey aren’t even sjws anymore they are just nihilists looking for a participation trophy. Tear stuff down and just be happy you “did something.”
I think the only sane move is to move from places infected like this. Either that or get ready for the apocalypse.

LegendKeymasterAlso just gonna say that if that play that knocked out both the receiver and the db down the stretch isn’t targeting, then they should just abolish the rule. It has to be one of the worst officiated rules in sports history.

LegendKeymasterThat was a really good read. Funny how the infiltration only happened outside of academia when academia stopped having capacity. Wonder where all the DEI experts go when companies start cutting costs aggressively.

LegendKeymasterMusk has done us a great service by shedding light on the industrial pact with government.
it’s truly amazing that news organizations haven’t picked it up at this point. This shouldn’t be political. The FBI was recommending deletions of speech.
ponder that. The FBI was recommending deletions of speech. And the majority of the country is on snooze.
We may have jumped the shark. The powers that be have figured out that even if the truth comes out, and it is really really bad…people just don’t care.

LegendKeymasterSaw this. It’s a fascinating compilation and actually quite useful.
It’s interesting to see that some of the inventions of the academic left like “trigger warning” are now on the speech code.
First person that calls me “They” out of courtesy might get laughed at out loud.

LegendKeymasterThe funding thing isn’t bothersome to me as it remains aligned with the same incentives that exist when the law firm does the funding itself. There was already big money there.
Now, if you are saying those particular incentives are shit and we need tort reform, then I agree. But the foxes have been guarding that henhouse forever. Most politicians are lawyers and are unlikely to hurt their guild.

LegendKeymasterYeah. Maybe I wasn’t clear. My point was that it’s amusing to me when politicians back programs they aren’t likely to suffer a consequence for, and then they suffer consequences for them. I don’t think it’s entirely ironic because the outcome could have been anticipated and the policies were wrong.
