Interesting take.  More to the point, it’s Harris pandering to Muslims.  She is losing – if she has not out right lost – the Muslim vote in Michigan.

This election is shaping up to look like the last two.  No one is voting FOR either candidate, they are voting against a candidate.

Trump could win this election by the largest margin since Reagan rolled Carter if he only slightly less offensive.  I can’t wait for this election to be over.

The media set her up to fail?  How about her own handlers set her to fail by refusing to let interviewers ask the obvious question.  Talk about missing the elephant in the room!  How do you not anticipate that question?

She would be better off to say that night was an awakening for her and she stepped in to save Biden’s legacy.  No one would believe her, but at least she’s got a plausible response to the question.

Even if it a landslide, libs will be in denial wondering how they could have lost the election. My answer will be, like it was in 2016, put up someone worth voting for and YOU win by a landslide.

On another note, loved these lines from the Telegraph.
Let’s just say that none appears to be a poster child for masculinity. The comments have been brutal. “Zero testosterone was used in the making of this ad”; “A Real Man instantly realises that there isn’t a single Real Man in this pathetic beta male cringe-fest of a propaganda video”; “From the party that can’t tell you what a woman is”; “As a man, I think I walked away from this ad with a yeast infection.”

IMO, she would have been better off wearing a leather catsuit while claiming she was helping corner the sex worker voting block.

This is not the first time Whitmer had a dust up with organized religion.  https://upnorthlive.com/news/local/churches-file-lawsuit-against-whitmer-for-violating-first-amendment-rights-during-covid-19

It’s always fun to re-visit her Covid policies.  https://www.thecentersquare.com/michigan/article_f43c7e72-c1be-11ed-92bd-5b73e21f1b7c.html.  I especially like the ban on operating motorboats and traveling to second homes, which her husband got caught violating shortly after she locked down the state.

I guess voters really are that stupid.
This is based on their polling cross tabs and past errors. Surprisingly, Fox News polls historically lean left as well. https://enewspaper.latimes.com/infinity/article_share.aspx?guid=3e6ea178-de03-4c61-b477-8ed92a236809
Good article.

Laughed at this ….”The reliability of the Fox News polling data has not been enough to reverse the DNC’s decision to shut the channel out of the primary debates. DNC Chairman Tom Perez has said he respects the Washington correspondents at Fox News but believes the network’s overall slant favors the Republicans. ”

Well, duh.  Much better to have CBS continue with it’s long history slanting and spinning news stories and interviews that someone get “wrongly edited.”

Surprised to see News Nation as a lean to the left.  I felt it was the opposite.  Maybe I’ve lived on the west coast long enough a slight lean to the left looks like a lean to the right.  🙂

Agree with GR.  A Trump loss will float thousands of conspiracy theories, but I believe (or hope might be a better word) the Republican party will develop a bull pen of pragmatic conservatives that moderates and independents will find appealing.

First, it is bewildering why Republicans can’t mount a cohesive strategic attack on Biden/Harris and stop with the name calling. Make libs actually discuss policy while reminding voters that all the bad things they predicted in 2016 failed to materialize, and 2024 is no different.

The left’s fixation on Project 2025 is telling. If MSM were tracking lies and misstatements like they do with Trump, Project 2025 would barely draw a peep.  No mention that it is the work of a think tank in existence for 40 years.  Puzzling is the Right’s silence with regards to liberal policy think tanks like the Center for American Progress.  In my opinion, that alone would move the needle for a few moderates and independents.

Friendly interview? That’s an understatement. You don’t have to dig deep into Harris’s proposals before you go WTF.

Business Startups –

9 out of 10 startups fail, a misleading startup statistics in the context of startups because these figures focus on all new businesses, both startups and traditional businesses (like a hair salon).

69% of all successful startups start from home, 59% choose to operate even when they have enough cash

Only 40% of startups become profitable, only 9% of startups survive ten years.

30% of future unicorns operate in enterprise/big data tools

A startup founder who is 40 years old is 2.1x more likely to start a successful venture than a 25-year-old.

Less than 1% of startups get venture capital investment.

Harris is willing to handout $50K/startup so people can pursue their dream of starting a company, even though 90% of them will fail.  Is the $50k a loan or a grant? If it is a loan, will it be forgiven if the business fails?  I can see becoming a startup specialist. Can I startup 6 or 7 businesses every year? Might be a nice gig for my retirement.

First time home buyers accounted for nearly 1/3 of home purchases last year, up 6% from 2022. With all of the government programs for first time buyers, do we really need additional incentives?  Of course, the mantra is again “helping people pursue their dream of owning a home.”

Last but not least, an additional break for each child.  This is again, helping people pursue their dream, only this one is the dream of starting a family.

I see an economic policy based on pursuit of dreams. More like the pursuit of clouds and taxing the rich.  Of course, taxing the rich doesn’t cover the additional cost of these 3 programs.

I’ve come to the conclusion Blue States don’t want to end homelessness.  How does any rational person look the spending to address homelessness and think it is money well spent?

$24B for 186,000 people?  Good gawd…..

Agree on Nikki Haley as a great choice, but would she have accepted? I see her as a front runner to clean up the smoldering mess of a Republican party in 4 years.

I watched for an hour.  My impression was the same as Legend’s.  Neither one answered a question.  Kamala looked more poised and polished than expected.  Trump – well, what can one say.

Kamala was all about talking points.  She’s going to fix the economy by giving away more money.  Great.
BTW, in an NYT article, Carville laid out a three-point plan for Harris to defeat Trump:

1. Make sure Trump hurts himself in the debate.
2. Break from Biden’s policies.
3. Show clear growth mind-set compared to her 2020 presidential run.
1.  Easy enough.  Let Trump be Trump.
2. Tough to do.  No policies of her own, she has to explain her support for Biden’s policies over the last 3 1/2 years. I’ll pay to watch.
3. No chance of this happening.  She has no aptitude for anything beyond blaming Trump for our current problems.
