She changed her position on immigration and fracking because of what she learned in the last 4 years.
There wasn’t a single mention on this forum about how Comer’s star witness in the impeachment inquiry turned out to be a Russian spy who was passing along Kremlin disinformation. But we should give James Comer some credit — he will not be deterred. After his impeachment investigation fizzled out, he has predictably launched a new investigation into Kamala’s running mate, Tim Walz, for traveling to China and teaching English there (very scandalous indeed): https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/gops-comer-launches-investigation-walzs-engagement-china/story?id=112896060 If the CCP is smart, they will put Comer in touch with a Chinese spy — or someone connected to Chinese spies — and dish him all kinds of disinformation. I look forward to Tweets about it from Tucker Carlson, who will “just be asking questions”.
GOP is so lacking fresh and original ideas it is stealing from the Dems playbook. Looks like a Steele dossier redux in this case.

“They’re blaming the “birth-death” model of new businesses opening versus new businesses closing — it’s basically just an estimate, and they’re claiming they’re still learning how to estimate the numbers post-COVID.”

“Governor Walz bent over backwards to appease a population that is 1.5% of his state. Interesting.” (fixed that for you)

Well, the fact checkers are all over this pointing out differences between Minnesota’s new flag and Somalia’s.  Walz pointed out the old flag was problematic, possibly offending the native American residents.  Native Americans are 1.0% of Minnesota’s population, so the narrative remains Walz was appeasing an extremely small minority.

Appeasement is sold as leadership.  We are becoming a nation of pussies lead by wussies.
https://x.com/OwenGregorian/status/1819715706323190110 Gavin Newsom doesn’t see you as a citizen of his state. He sees you as a potential revenue stream.
This would be funny it weren’t so sad.  California has done such a bang up job managing resources and supplying basic services that it will own and operate refineries?

Who will it sue when there is spill? Who will it sue over contributing to climate change?

    Good heavens…..

Democratic governors have more baggage than a cruise ship.  Jay Inslee is a perfect example when you have nothing but ideology to float your boat. (Pun intended.)

WSF problems entirely predictable – and avoidable

In his haste to save the planet, he is costing Washington residents a “boatload” of misery, not mention hitting their pocketbook with fees, taxes and assessments to reduce our collective carbon footprint.

I wonder if the poll reflects the feelings about a woman president vs this woman as president.  IMO, the poll reflects the latter rather than the former.
It doesn’t make any difference. If Trump loses he will fire up the conspiracy theories and lawsuits regardless of any validity. If he loses a by a little, his people will assume it was “rigged”. If he loses by a lot his people will definitely think it was rigged. He will never admit defeat. And he (and many of his supporters) will believe any dumb conspiracy, as we saw in 2020. It doesn’t matter who he was running against, what the polls said, what the evidence is. As you may recall, in 2016, during the Republican primary, he claimed the outcome in some states and the process and was rigged. Everything in his life, if it doesn’t favor him, is rigged. Heads he wins; tails it was rigged.
You post as if Dems have never claimed an election was rigged. HRC still claims the 2016 was manipulated.
First, the non-interesting item. Black women are rallying to support Harris: ‘We were built for this moment’: Black women rally around Kamala Harris (msn.com) Now the interesting item: Black men aren’t nearly as supportive of Harris. Metro Detroit — of all places, a place I lived for four years — show a slight, persistent polling edge for Trump. Heard this from a Dem commentator yesterday. https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/07/21/michigan-poll-trump-biden-polling/74468127007/ Trump has a 7 point lead in the state, including a 46% to 44% lead in Metro Detroit. Four years ago, Biden beat Trump 56% to 40%.
I don’t see anything here that is surprising. Rallying to support Harris – really?  Biden got over 90% of the Black Female vote, how much more rallying can one get?

The only record she can run on is Joe’s.  IMO, Trump needs to push the idea that she is essentially Joe Part 2 with less experience in foreign and domestic policy.

It will be interesting to see how she will disconnect from this administration, or if she will.  I think she stands a decent chance if she moves the middle NOW with policy statements on Foreign Policy, Education, Energy and Health Care.  At the risk of losing the lunatic fringe, (a small risk, IMO), I think a moderate position will win more votes than it will cost. Like I said, it’s a small risk, where else is the LGBQTxyz crowd going with their support?

I didn’t bother watching the RNC Convention .  This may be a different story.

    Drinking game challenge.

Take a shot of your favorite bourbon, Tequila  whatever every time the phrase “convicted felon” is used.

🙂  Just for fun. Besides, it will dull the pain of seeing these two azz hats trying to convince voters one of them deserves to be president again.

Short of a revolution, only a viable 3rd party option will save the Republic.  It will have to appeal to moderates and pragmatists to stand a chance over the ideologues who keep getting re-elected.
