ParticipantHis record in Congress for 12 years was ranked as pretty moderate.
There’s a long recording of Trump effusively praising Walz multiple times on a call with him for his handling of the situation post George Floyd.

ParticipantI’ll take someone too liberal or too conservative over a MAGA party that is destroying our democracy.
I remember back on the original CEB around 2016, when Trump was running, I said he was a cancer on our democracy. Here we are 8 years later and the entire right wing establishment is now in his pocket and nobody on his side believes in anything except his mantra that the country is failing and everything is corrupt — when in reality he is the guy corrupting it more than anyone.
It’s amazing that I yearn for the days of Bush. I spent years on the CEB railing against his policies and the Iraq War. I turned out to be right (and now all the MAGA are pretending they hated Bush too, when they were cheerleading all that shit). But at least we simply had differences of opinion and policy. His policies were disastrous, as were his court picks, but they were things we could move on from. Now we’re on the brink of some dystopian country thanks to the pied piper of corruption — Trump.

ParticipantIt doesn’t make any difference. If Trump loses he will fire up the conspiracy theories and lawsuits regardless of any validity. If he loses a by a little, his people will assume it was “rigged”. If he loses by a lot his people will definitely think it was rigged. He will never admit defeat. And he (and many of his supporters) will believe any dumb conspiracy, as we saw in 2020.
It doesn’t matter who he was running against, what the polls said, what the evidence is. As you may recall, in 2016, during the Republican primary, he claimed the outcome in some states and the process and was rigged. Everything in his life, if it doesn’t favor him, is rigged.
Heads he wins; tails it was rigged.

ParticipantHey Cardcrimson: As you can imagine, I don’t condone any of this stuff, but since you’re making it political, just a reminder that Trump joked about Pelosi’s husband at a rally (everyone laughed) after he was beaten with a hammer nearly to death — not to mention the guy was trying to kill the Speaker of the House.
Donald Trump Jr. also mocked the attack on Paul Pelosi by sharing a meme on social media. The meme depicted a Halloween costume consisting of underwear and a hammer, with the caption “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”
Also from Trump Jr.:
The internet remains undefeated… Also if you switch out the hammer for a red feather boa you could be Hunter Biden in an instant
Also, a reminder that former President Trump also mused at a rally that the “Second Amendment people” could do something about Hillary Clinton choosing judges if she is elected president. Then then just a few weeks later he suggested her secret service detail should be removed “just to see what happens”.
Just a reminder that Trump told his Chief of Staff that Mike Pence deserved to be hanged.
A reminder that Trump called for Liz Chaney to face a military tribunal just the other day.
A reminder that Trump called for his former Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley to be executed.
A reminder that Trump reposted a disturbing baseball bat photo next to Alvin Bragg, and threatened “death and destruction” if he (Trump) was charged.
A reminder that Trump reposted an image of Joe Biden hogtied on the bed of a pick-up truck.
A reminder that Trump promised to pay the legal bills if his supporters beat up protesters. He suggested they remove protesters “on a stretcher”. And told them to “knock the crap out of him” regarding another protester. In a speech in 2017 he also told police officers not to be “too nice” when putting suspects into police vehicles, suggesting they should not protect suspects’ heads when placing them in the cars.
A reminder that Trump praised Congressman Greg Gianforte for body-slamming a reporter.
A reminder that during the George Floyd protests, Trump mused that “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”
And finally it should be noted that the shooter yesterday was a registered Republican and a member of a conservative second-amendment group. Reporters also spoke to his classmates who recalled the shooter as a very conservative guy who would take the conservative side whenever any political issue came up. Quote from the classmate:
“He definitely was a conservative. It makes me wonder why he would carry out an assassination attempt on the conservative candidate…. Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side.”
I heard he supposedly donated $15 to Act Blue (a Democratic organization), but apparently it was a donation made by a 69 year old guy with the same name.
Apparently the gunman had an obsession with Epstein and was looking for some kind of vengeance per one of his recent social media posts. Given Trump’s ties to Epstein, which have come into focus recently (more evidence and accusations about Trump), that’s the only explanation that makes sense to me.

ParticipantLooks like I was right. 2000 Mules publisher pulled the film from all platforms.
Add it to the list of all the other bullshit conspiracies peddled by the right, as well as the election audits that found nothing meaningful, and the recounts that confirmed Biden’s victory.
The damage has been done, though. So the retraction and apology will have about as much impact as a fart in the wind.

Of course he’s innocent until proven guilt, but: Former FBI informant charged with lying about the Bidens’ role in Ukraine business, undercutting GOP impeachment inquiry
He figured prominently in the impeachment and the film. In any case, the film has been debunked. Not that anyone should be surprised.

ParticipantOdd they you all seem to think there’s some subterfuge going on with this appointment.
Last year 33 Republican members of Congress wrote a letter to Merick Garland, specifically asking that Weiss be given special counsel status.
Weiss, however, had never asked for such standing until very recently, saying that his investigation never required it; he was not impeded by lack of such status. Nevertheless, as soon as he asked, it was granted… And now many of these 33 Congressmen are complaining that Weiss was granted special counsel status.
As a reminder, by the way, Weiss is a Republican attorney, appointed by Trump — and appointed while Joe was a private citizen. But somehow this is fishy? The more likely explanation is that after several years of investigating Hunter — not to mention Comer’s failed House investigation — there is not much to this story besides a drug addict who played up his family name, while his father was a private citizen.
Meanwhile, all the so-called whistleblowers who are going to “expose” the nefarious wrongdoing by President Biden somehow turn out to be missing, or turn out to be Russian oligarchs, or Chinese spies, or Iranian arms dealers. Or the “star witness” that is finally going to blow the lid off the case testifies that President Biden was actually not involved. And the 17 audio tapes that are going to “expose” Joe Biden are somehow never to be found. Odd that some of you think a guy who has dementia and his drug addict son are able to outwit a multiyear investigation and a Congressional investigation.
So far the biggest actual evidence of anything are some dick pics. You’ve got the inmates running the asylum in the House, but you’re worried about Biden’s son playing up his family name like every famous family has done since forever.
Meanwhile, the Trump family — who was actually representing our government — made off with billions from the Saudis, whose Prince had said he had Kushner “in his pocket”. But somehow a guy who has never been part of the Biden administration is the boogie man.
Where is the thread on the CEB talking about the $2 billion Kushner and Ivanka Trump got? Or the $400 million they made while working in the White House? Or the patents and copywrites they received from the Chinese government? Where is the thread talking about the many millions of dollars Trump pocketed from foreign governments who “rented” empty spaces in his buildings & hotels while he was President, and who over-paid for hotel rooms at Trump’s properties?
