Joe and his “crew” are totally horrible people.  He, in particular, is the exact antithesis to the persona that he has dishonestly claimed to be throughout his career.  I have been stymied to find the words to express my disgust.

I don’t think he’s even really running for reelection at this point.  He’s just waiting to be told when his handlers want him to execute the plan to withdraw from the race.  They have to work out their deal with Kamala to get her out of the race.  Biden is like a “short-timer” who knows the end is coming and is putting in the absolute minimum effort in order to get the deal that has been promised him.  He is a lazy, stupid, egotistic cretin.

Hillary is still worse, but in a very different way and with greater reach.

Mick, I beg to differ.  Just the ongoing inverted yield curve suggests that a recession lies ahead.  Leading indicators are not encouraging.  Real wages have been mostly declining for the last two years and productivity increases over that period have been anemic.  And that is only a partial list.  I don’t feel particularly good about what lies ahead.

What an articulate young man.  I am impressed with the work he did on his research and he seems fair in his descriptions of events and issues.  Gives one a little ray of hope about the future of journalism.  😉

I think you can go back to Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy doing a tap dance on the reputation of Judge Robert Bork in the Supreme Court confirmation process in the early 90’s.  Or the incessant derogations by the Left of Republican figures such as Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan for their supposed stupidity.  It’s as old as John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.  🤬

I still think they will find an excuse to pull him (health, legal).  They’ll get around Kamala and things will bust open.  Newsome will not be the candidate.  Maybe Lori Lightfoot.  She’s not doing anything.  🤪😉

More rate increases to come.  ☹️

And actually, glancing at recent commodities prices reminds one that we are walking a razor’s edge.  Right now all eyes are on the threat of inflation.  However, should Powell not hit the policy bullseye, we have a serious threat of deflation looming in the background.

“what is inflation and how do you measure whether it’s meeting your expectations?”

I understand your point, but the monetary expansion over the last 15 years was so unprecedented and so egregious that one could have reasonably felt that there would be a much more extreme and much more extended increase in inflation.  I actually think there is more to come, as core inlation has only come down a bit more than 1% from its peak.

I wish Milton Friedman were around to respond to this.  Given money supply growth over the last 15 years, this is confusing to me.   I have been anticipating much more inflationary impact than we have experienced up to this point once the economy started to recover.  It is looking like inflation might abate now as the economy falls into recession.  These are confusing times in many ways.

I appreciate your effort, RJNWMill.  Beyond Thunderdome thinks it is all about discrediting personalities that he tries to assign to you.  Liberals like her tend to be far more interested in personal attacks than reason.  Nice try, though.

Agree that Haley seems to be getting less attention than I had expected.  Love Tim Scott’s positivity, but hopefully he can mix in more hardcore policy specifics as he goes along.  DiSantis should try to smile more.  His wife is his personal connection to the electorate.  He is very articulate in explaining his policy goals.  And Vivek is my sleeper.  Maybe a great VP candidate w/ DiSantis.  A president-in-training!

Peggy Noonan has become a cocktail circuit RINO with a sappy self-inulgent perspective who spouts cliche drivel.  If Chris Christie has any influence on the direction of the country, we are truly lost.

Ex Machina was an excellent depiction of the threat posed by AI.  Very under-recognized film.

Apparently, there is more to the story.  Jesse Waters on FOX updated the story and said the marines had been partying w/ the teens when the fight broke out.  Guess we’ll learn more later.
