This is a compilation of recent shameful events at Stanford.  I have gone from being obnoxiously proud of my alma mater to just wanting to crawl in a hole if any of these topics come up.

    What Happened to Stanford?

People are being lulled by the rash of stories suggesting that the pushback against wokism has begun.  While that may technically be accurate, it is laughable to think we have diminished the momentum of the radical leftist movement.

I’d be interest to see a comparison of the number of “woke-oriented” non-profits, NGO’s, voter turnout groups there are and their aggregate number of members compared to their conservative counterparts.  The amount of federal gov’t funding of the the former, I expect, dwarfs that of the latter.

I view the World Economic Forum in the same way hard line leftists view the Trilateral Commission.  I think they have a misguied and perhaps corrupt vision of the future world we should pursue.

Plus Dems are much more caught up in what other liberals think of them.  Vulnerable to peer pressure.  Lemmings.

” If the rest of the country cares what it looks like when Democrats are in charge, California, Oregon and Washington are textbook examples.”

Add New York, New Jersey and Illinois to that list.  Then look at the interstate migration tables.

    Probably just temporary.  Like inflation.

We need to accomodate immigration.  From many parts of the world.  But our national interests should be the filter to determine who is let in.

More than 3 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the US since Bide took the oath to “defend and protect”.  Plus, the border patrol estimates there were 1 million “getaways” in each of the last two years.  When Title 42 expires we will face 18,000 immigeants daily.  That is 500,000 per month.  6,000,000 per year.

There are so many actual examples of the Left’s extreme hypocrisy that we don’t need to hypothesize situations based on counterfactuals.  This is not a “both sides do it” situation.  The Left has become brazen in its assertions about the evils of Republicanism.  They are insane.

One good thing is that Trump was diminished a bit, and DeSantis was enhanced.  I’m disappointed, but not devastated.  I just hope Trump stays away from the Georgia runoff.

So that kerfuffle is over.  Race is back to even.  False alarm.  Hope Herschel and his son work it out.  A father and son should not be alienated.

Warnock withstood Kelly Loeffler’s attacks in the 2020 race that tried to damage his standing with his ties to the liberation theology of his church.  I disagree with those who say that Martin Luther King would be pleased with the way in which that church has evolved.  The underlying theology is just another version of the creed of BLM.  I think a majority of voters in Georgia would be put off with the “Howard Zinn version of US history” that underpins those perspectives.  It is now propaganda more than it is theology.

Absolutely, rjnwmill, and Reagan had a daughter that was harshly opposed to his persona.  It’s sad that Walker and his son were apparently very close before Walker chose to flatly deny the allegations.

Bill Clinton was one of the best arguments against relying on politicians as avatars of moral guidance.  But there are thousands of politicians, literally, who have violated many fundamental notions of integrity, honesty and morality.

It is at least partially the result of the arbitrary and ancillary costs we impose on our public servants.  Over time we have disincentivized our best and brightest from serving and they have been readily replaced by rascals, miscreants and criminals.  Examples of the type of people being chased away would be Mitch Daniels and Colin Powell; but there are many, many more.  Instead we get pols like the aforementioned Bill (and Hillary) Clinton, as well as Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, people with no usable or admirable accomplishments in the real world and with no compunctions about manipulating political structures to enrich themselves
