I think the poll is measuring liars and their ill will.  Respondents sense it.   Easy to lie but very hard to undue one.  The small business number  is interesting but not surprising.  Ever hire someone to do a job at your house and they stop showing up?  You call them and they tell you a lie about why over and over?  Or someone says they will call you back and it never happens?

You don’t need much to garner 80 million votes.  Newsome is a font of bad takes but he’s the prettiest corpse in the morgue.  So he’s going to get in.

My cold blooded 2 cents.  Not just Biden,  but Trump, The Clintons, and Obama and his people have to go.  Then about half of Congress.

I posted this news on the French rioting because it is a big story that is being largely unreported outside France.  George Floydian.   Elsewhere it is being given a good “leaving alone”.

My first thought was how much does this crap cost the French government?  One kid shot?  40,000 cops deployed.  What’s that cost?  What outcome do the rioters want?  Is this about reparations and not the kid?    Probably.  And they will get it.

A civil society can deal with race issues given enough time.  But they can’t deal with the costs of a highly uncivil society be it these kind of uprisings or the cost of a Fentanyl baby put up for adoption and the massive amounts of professional assistance needed until the kid reaches 18.

Leaders like Macron don’t seem to be able to articulate any common sense.  Just diversion.   We will all cave into to massive debt.

I’d take Mexico City over NY.

This list is different from The Michelin ratings.  Looking through both lists they are selling a lot of drama with the food.   NY’s top places get over $1000/head.  I took a detailed look at some of the menus and there is only so much you can do.  But I would like to try the Fat Duck in London (Michelin #4).

Of all the places I’ve been, I would have to admit that California cuisine is generally the best based on my limited experiences.   Seattle too.  But that has a lot to do with Copper River Salmon and King crab – at least for my taste.

I’d be interested in that Singapore based purveyor too.

Both Cal-Berkley and Harvard are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Democratic Party.  Those institutions draw dimwits like flies.
I still think they will find an excuse to pull him (health, legal). They’ll get around Kamala and things will bust open. Newsome will not be the candidate. Maybe Lori Lightfoot. She’s not doing anything. 🤪😉
Lori Lightfoot was picked up on waivers by Harvard University.  Surprisingly she was picked up by The School of Public Health and not the Kennedy School.   Good place for someone the voters got sick of.

There is a lot of money to be made with political upheaval especially in an armed nuclear state.   Yet commodity futures haven’t moved.  Crude oil stable.  Currency exchange is flat.  This all happened on a weekend when markets are closed.

Miranda Devine does her job of reporting what she sees.

Most others find nothing.  That is the banality.  A remoteness from reality.  Stunning in it’s simplicity.

I”d say Biden has been very successful at the border.  It is exactly what his administration wants.  You can include some of the so called Republicans too.

The kicker is the troops.   He can play it tough with troops which is all for show and “chaotic” at the same time without any change in outcome.   Win win for Joe.  Lose Lose for the country and hapless political opposition.  The press will go wild with it.

Pretty diabolically clever in my view.

Whatever comes out of the meeting is nothing.

WSJ says stay defensive and offensive at the same time.   Stay away from risk..buy defensive stocks and treasuries.   Dividends and earnings I guess.

I think that the machines rule. You begin to lose confidence at some point.

Heard an AI story from a friend this weekend about an elderly family member that was recently swindled out of a substantial amount of money.  The perps used sophisticated AI generated voice and facial recognition to duplicate a grandchild’s voice and face exactly.  Too long to go into technical detail but social media use was at it’s core.

Unrelated, I had a police officer show up at my door one evening last week telling me that a complaint was made about a stolen Iphone showing up on my property using “find my Iphone”. We looked and found nothing.  The owner showed up the next day and wanted to search my property.  Nothing.  Had this been the wrong person it could have gotten really ugly. The locator dot is still there.  WTF.

Fox News is still paying Carlson and is reported to want to keep him on the payroll until after the 2024 election cycle when his contract ends.  The reason being to silence him from any criticism.

This from the news organization which markets itself as the defender of free speech and strongly opposes censorship in any form.  Except when it’s inconvenient for them.
