Agree completely. That said, he’s not the first disgrace to the office; we’ve had plenty, and several in our lifetimes.

According to some sources, Kabul could fall as soon as tomorrow. Not 90 days, tomorrow. We’re begging the Taliban to let our embassy staff leave safely and for them to not attack it.

I pray the Americans (and the European forces still there) can get out safely. Benghazi was horrible. This could be Benghazi on steroids. And where’s Joe? Back in Delaware. . . .

GR, My point was not about Covid. It was simply about the hypocrisy of the same requirement called racist in one instance, yet perfectly acceptable in another.

Can you help with that one?

Thanks for the links. Love the headline in the Bloomberg piece: White Vaccination Rates Lag in States Where Covid Is Surging

Oddly, the charts they present below indicate an entirely different picture: in heavily democratic states, black vaccination rates significantly lag those of other races.

Two completely incompetent leaders. The border is a disaster, our foreign affairs are a mess, China is flexing it’s muscles, and the Delta variant (blamed on Republican anti-vaxxers) is running rampant through underserved communities that have relied on Democrats for years. Our country is an unmitigated disaster.

Heard on the news today that Covid cases are on the rise in San Francisco, with Mayor Breed leading the charge to get people vaccinated. According to her and the report, the rise is disproportionately impacting people of color, as they have a much lower vaccination rate. . . .

Basketball? I’ve not watched a game in a long time. The narcissism, political posturing, and embrace of China have driven me away.

Wow, it’s becoming a really tight race. Who is the most corrupt family in American politics? Methinks the Clintons were the clear leader, but the Bidens are making a strong run. One might think the Bushes, but the unbiased press would have discovered something by now. The Kennedys would be the front runners, except for several untimely deaths (John, Bobby, JFK Jr, Mary Jo).

Regarding number 6, just got back home from a big water polo tournament in San Diego. Our hotel was near the airport, across from one of the many marinas and promenades. Went for a mile or so walk every morning in an area perfect for homeless. What did I see? Perhaps two or three homeless, and instead, an organized fun run and swim for families and true competitors. In LA or the Bay Area the area would be a tent city. At least one city in California gets it right.

Here’s a question I’ve not heard an answer to. Perhaps because I’m not really listening. . . .

What will the IRS do and/or the DA from Manhattan? Trumps CEO and the Trump Org are facing criminal charges for not reporting benefits like tuition as compensation. Will the universities that offer tuition, room and board to athletes, and the athletes themselves, be charged similarly for not reporting the compensation on their taxes? Slippery slope.

It will create a huge disparity among large schools and smaller schools, and football and basketball players and the rest.

And like anyone will believe this:

    • Compensation is not provided in exchange for athletic participation or achievement
    • Compensation is not provided as an inducement for or contingent upon enrollment at Stanford

Then what is it provided for? Recruits will know that the boosters will pay when they sign the LOI.

In a few short months, every football playing in the SEC will be driving around in a newly leased car provided by the local booster/car dealer, walking around in snappy duds provided by the big and tall store, and eating/drinking for free at the local sports bar. . . .

Just waiting for this to hit. Will be more devastating than a major earthquake. And like a major quake, we’re due. Of course the flood will be blamed on climate change, though it’s happened pretty much every 100-200 years. . . .

A bummer that the town in live in currently got washed away. . . .
