Great post Mick. Didn’t remember/realize the history, especially during the early US. . . .

Your tax dollars at work. . . .

Not surprised one bit about this, nor that NPR is refuting the allegations and praising the work their team does.

Yeah, I was banned on the cardboard for my opinions on the reaction to Covid (and that I ridiculed a certain Congresswoman for posting a tweet wishing Willie Mays a happy birthday with a picture of her with Willie McCovey). I’ve spent 35 years in the HVAC space and what the “experts” were recommending was asinine. Of course our buddy OF was stating that Trump was intentionally killing people with his response so he could get reelected. . . .

Their border policies, obviously. The border is a sieve, and that’s what they wanted. Millions of potential voters. . . .

New there was a graphene thread, but don’t normally check the “classic hits” board. Thanks for pointing me there. . . .

    Home Graphene

Though a start up, it is publicly traded so I have to be careful what I post. What I can say, is that I was really skeptical initially about the energy efficiency improvement due solely to a coating. But with enough 3rd party testing, I’m a believer. Great corrosion resistance too!

The graphene is also being used for its thermal conductive properties, and incorporated into coatings for heat transfer. That’s where I come in after spending 35 years in HVAC. Released a product at a massive trade show just this week . . . .

Currently working with a company that is developing a graphene aluminum ion battery–faster charging, better capacity, and doesn’t catch fire. Coin batteries in testing now. They produce their own graphene by cracking natural gas with plasma, forming hydrogen and pure carbon in graphene form. Pretty cool tech.

The initiative’s main goal is to help make birding—and bird conservation—more inclusive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds. Some three billion birds have disappeared from North America since 1970—and amid habitat loss, collisions with windows, threats from cats and climate change, birds need all the help they can get to reverse their decline.

First, I’ve birded all my life, and not once did I ever look up who a bird was named after, nor did I care. It’s stupid to think this will make birding more inclusive.

Second, I love how they didn’t mention the single largest killer of migratory birds–wind turbines.

Third, so long to the Canada Goose and the American Pipit, as both countries are systemically racist. Goodbye Mexican Jay, too. The Carolina Wren? With their bathroom laws? Could go on and on. . . .

As mentioned above, I’d vote for her. Right now, the only person she might not be able to beat is Trump.
