rjnwmillParticipantI must say, Spielberg should have set this somewhere other than NY. It just doesn’t play in DiBlasio’s random street crime city. The story is out of time in this city.

rjnwmillParticipant“I can understand why people don’t like this. It conflicts with their worldview where nobody should have to pay for their actions with their life, and, like the DA said, sometimes you need to take a beating. While I understand that worldview, I reject it.”
Me too. I’ll engage in further conjecture. The reason “some people” don’t like it is because they got fat and comfortable last summer. They were able to loot, burn and physically attack anyone they construed as an enemy. Local leadership totally ceded control of our urban centers to the mob.
In ten minutes Rittenhouse changed their risk profile. Good on him.

rjnwmillParticipantHow do our politics/leadership impact the planning, policies and initiatives in other countries; China, Europe, Russia, Mexico?
Perhaps another three years with Biden in the Oval Office? What’s comes next in 2024? How do nation states deal with uncertainty over the next three to six years? How do they gain/exploit their opportunities to influence our political choices through social media in the interim? Seems as though we as a nation are the embodiment of that tired political expression, “all options are on the table”. And this becomes operative because we can’t answer that question. What is expedited/prioritized by our competitors and allies over the balance of Biden’s term?
I was surprised that climate change was positioned as a priority amongst our “friends”. In present circumstances it is the choice for economic surrender absent the ability to similarly inflate costs in China and India. I was surprised that the origins of the CVP virus has been pushed to Page 6 so to speak. I suspect gain of function research is underway more broadly and a reckless pursuit of such things is more dangerous than nuclear proliferation. And these two issues are priorities for us. What strategic paradigms are shaping the policies of our competitors?

rjnwmillParticipantAlso of interest here is the prosecution’s tactics. In the last day or two they specifically asked jurors to accept negative inferences about the defendant because he elected not to tell his side of the story until the defense presentation at trial. They then elected to ignore the judges prior evidentiary rulings in front of the juror.
Alan Dershowitz is of the opinion these missteps by the prosecution were deliberate in the hope they could get a mistrial. Their case has been that poorly presented.
And our national sociologist in residence, LaBron tweets about the defendant’s performance on the stand. Personally, I think the Celtic’s player’s shoes are more thought provoking than James.

rjnwmillParticipantPerhaps we’ve seen the end of school closures? Mask mandates in schools? Mandatory vaccination for kids?
Thanks Virginia.
Increased parental visibility into school curriculum, an unintended consequence of at home on line learning, is deadlier to the ATF and democratic political ambitions than the CCP virus ever was. Gotta treat parents like mushrooms.

rjnwmillParticipant“The sheeple won’t know, won’t care. Trump out–good. Biden in–good. Look how fast the economy turned around after he was elected. But they’ll still blame Trump for the worldwide resurgence of the virus. .”
Well, maybe not? Brandon is Billy Conn, and in the roll of Joe Louis-
A trump vaccine as the last best hope
inflation
empty shelves
a”magnificent” withdrawal from Afghanistan with US citizens stranded
oil prices
illegal immigration and drug smuggling at an open boarder
reduced public health and safety services attributable to clumsy public policy-mandates that ignore naturally occurring antibodies
and coming soon…winter heating bills.
Gridlocked DEMOCRATS in Congress
a transportation Secretary on paternity leave
These stories don’t need coverage in the news cycle to be FELT.
And the real hoot, one side of the aisle has opened Pandora’s Box with decades selling victimhood, selling avoidance of responsibility, selling government solutions, selling their ability to deliver “solutions”. That dog won’t hunt.

rjnwmillParticipantBTD, your myopia shows-
we know infection and mortality rates are declining.
we know vaccines protect the vaccinated from others choice- see Psaki.
We know there is significant protections afforded by natural antibodies. Yet public policy largely ignores this fact
We know poorly defined mandates damage/will damage heath and safety services and the economy generally.
yet you say this: “Yes, it’s a complex issue, but you’re downplaying the role conservatives have played in muddying the message about getting vaccinated, mask wearing, and social distancing.”
It is complex. You don’t consider personal freedom issues when misguided policy is being implemented.
keep it simple. Say thanks Trump.

rjnwmillParticipantMcAuliffe is so “Clinton”. How can fools like this be selected and promoted for a governorship? They hold such contempt for the electorate.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. When you reach 84, there are fewer good choices? Remarkable portfolio from a life well lived.

rjnwmillParticipantBTD:
”I realize CNN and any number of other left leaning media vilified Trump about the number of deaths for many months. It was political then and was political of Mick to do the same. Quite honestly, if Biden and Harris really were downplaying the virus or their policies were the source of the problem, then I would agree with Mick.”
If you believe this narrative, you can convince me. Please detail every accomplishment by the Biden administration attributable to the development, licensing and broad distribution of therapeutics. And please spend some time presenting the case with regard to the efficacy of generic products…as opposed to the patented Merck offering. (I think the generics run $3.00 a dose while the new Merck product is priced at $700.00.). Did I miss their good work? Do they have a super, extra, really secret Operation Warp Speed Part Deux underway?
I mean the possibility of a “Delta” variant occurrence is a surprise to no one.
So help me understand, if the administration has taken the easy route with it’s untargeted mandates, damaging the economy, the labor market & societal comity, instead of enhancing treatment options, why shouldn’t we lay the continuing deaths on the Whitehouse steps?
