What do you think is the likelihood that the USSC will hear the half dozen or so cases regarding 2020 election process constitutionality that are to be considered for review in a week or two.

At the review I believe it takes four votes to hear a case. Will multiple “conservative” justices decline?

As an aside, the state mandated that I show up with a state issued photo ID in order to receive vaccine at my scheduled appointment…to join in the company of the unwashed masses queued up for service.  Is the effort to curtail vaccination fraud more important to society than the avoidance of voter fraud?  It’s suggested that we can’t require photo ID’s in voting so as not to disenfranchise those who are unable to attain said ID’s. Yet in fighting a pandemic, a virus that is easily spread through human contact, politicians refuse to waive the ID requirement? To hell with the risk of spread. To hell with high risk lives if they lack appropriate identification.

How does one square that circle?

From a political standpoint Harris screwed the pooch. Trump won the state by 40%. And yet, there is a Democratic Senator from the state…in a 50-50 senate.

Harris went down there with out engagement with Mansion. Her appearance and messaging could not produce the outcome they hoped for.

So Biden starts his second week killing jobs, with his inability to open Chicago schools at the top of the news cycle and a VP who has his gift to make things worse.

The Harris appearance in West Virginia confirms what has been obvious since the primaries, her shelf life is shorter than Joe’s.

If Joe goes, so goes the democrats hold on power. And opposed to the farewell victory tour with a quick exit you offered, I think it’s as likely he’ll be Hoover part deux, and not entirely due to circumstances he’s created.

What’s the over/under for the number that will be undone by the courts?

Our legislative bodies are now the least effective/productive in our history?  Reconciliation is the only path forward.

in terms of “Kubuki Theatre”, Trump’s impeachment defense might surely qualify. I certainly hope so.

I recently received a missive from the local elected official who “represents” my area.  She was crowing about the imminent opening of a second vaccine administration site.

She failed to mention that she and her peers have committed tax dollars to a vendor for a web site to schedule appointments and that the web site is a dead end.  When one registers with the vendor and subsequently visits the site to schedule an appointment for vaccination you are advised, “Thanks for your interest in the COVID-19 vaccine. You are in the waiting room. We will update you based on the availability and priority set by CDPH.”  The vendor, Othena, also announces in a large and bold font that they are, “Re-Imagining Clinical Experience”.

Elected officials are only too pleased to return to a pre Trump environment where the standard for the performance of public officials and government institutions is abysmal…and kept quiet.  It is appropriate to piss away public funds with incompetent vendors who’s only “deliverable” is a dead end web site that fails to provide any benefit and to ignore said malfeasance by vendors so long as you have an opportunity to distribute self congratulatory communications to voters.  {The Emmy winning NY Governor has been delighted to perform as the lead dog in this parade.}

The biggest catastrophe from the 2020 election cycle is the end of accountability for elected officials.  The damage will be profound.  Cancel the Keystone with the attendant loss of jobs, return to energy dependency on our “friends” in the Middle East & Russia, open the borders to depress middle class wages, destroy market based controls on energy pricing to render our manufacturing sector obsolete and move those supply chains to our political and economic competitors.  All as Amazon/Washington Post/Bezos insist that employees must show up in person to participate in an election to decide whether or not the work force should organize.  Of course a failure to insist on voter ID in the election would result in an outcome that couldn’t be fair.  What a hoot!
