Maybe, but not in the way you think….

ParticipantLow turnout primary. Schiff has tons of money. He’s really arrogant, though. I don’t know who is running the PAC attack ad against Garvey, but they have the messaging wrong. Yes, Garvey votes for Trump twice. But his “scare quotes” are: “We were safer under Trump,” (true), and that he wants to build the wall, which is getting more and more popular, even in California.

ParticipantProf. Fryer had his career derailed / was suspended from his lab by…. Claudine Gay.

Not only police shootings, but his work on closing the racial achievement gap in Harlem and Houston challenged the idea that it is socio-economic conditions that prevent kids from learning / achievement. It also required hiring teachers with the right mindset….
He’s a pure academic (and a Democrat). But he believes in the data and making sure our policies address actual problems, and create real solutions. That’s what makes him dangerous to people like Prof. Gay.

ParticipantDoesn’t matter. People will still vote Democrat once the fear mongering kicks in. The economy was worse in 2022, and the red wave fizzled.

ParticipantSeattle just agreed to pay $10 million to 50 rioters injured by police in 2020.
Denver is paying $4.7 million to 300 BLM rioters arrested in 2020.
Philadelphia is paying them $9 million.
New York City is shelling out $13 million.
In total, $90+ million in taxpayer dollars…

Cities are Democrat money laundering machines. Burn down your city, sue the city, get settlement, donate to radical progressive, protest and burn things with impunity, sue city, politicians pay you, and repeat.
Gavin Newsom mastered this with a series of NGOs and non-profits run by his donors. Pour billions into these organizations to address homelessness, but not really solve the problem, donors get money, donate to him, and repeat.

DeSantis out. Hired NeverTrumper consultants who haven’t won anything. Had extremely online press folks on Twitter with no sense of humor. Lots of mistakes in hiring and execution. I still think he’s a great governor and hopefully has a bright future. Did great in debates, and with hostile journalists. But man was his messaging bad, and he got caught flat footed a lot.

ParticipantDoing some quick math, it looks like RFK Jr. erodes Trump’s support by about 9%, and Biden’s by about 3%. I’m assuming that West and Stein support comes from Biden’s side.

ParticipantRead this. I like DeSantis, but the political consultants and his campaign staff are terrible at messaging and execution. Ryan Girdusky is a strong personality, but I think he’s generally right about this.
Another perspective.

ParticipantTrump needs to be polling at +5% in the swing states to win in the general election.
The margin needs to be so high that the monkey games they will play in Philadelphia, and other cities, won't be able to overcome the lead.

I agree with this Vivek take. He’s very good at messaging, and engaging. Also, he’s willing to change his mind and admit when he is wrong.
