Read earlier today, somewhere, that PA was turning red?

As for advertising spend, I’m waiting for three things.

The debates, how badly will Joe do?

The next set of riots and looting, how much will they inflame the Orange base, and more importantly, the moderates and the independents?

The Barr and Durham show, what, if anything, is going on there?

If two of those go Trumps way, the advertising will be relentless in the swing states.

No mention on CNNs front page. Small article on the police out of surgery. A paragraph on the protest:

“Reporter, protester arrested
A reporter and a protester were arrested and charged with resisting arrest outside the hospital, the LASD tweeted.
Deputies issued a dispersal order for “the unlawful assembly of a group of protesters” who, according to police, were yelling anti-police statements and blocking the hospital emergency entrance and exits, but “a male adult protester refused to comply.”
“During his arrest, a struggle ensued at which time a female adult ran towards the deputies, ignored repeated commands to stay back as they struggled with the male and interfered with the arrest,” a LASD tweet said.
“The female adult, who was later identified as a member of the press, did not identify herself as press and later admitted she did not have proper press credentials on her person,” said a tweet. ”

Just despicable. Both the protestors and the MSM.

Seems a little tin hatish. . . .

Most of the No Cal fires were sparked by the craziest lightning storm I’ve ever seen in CA. First bolts woke me up at around 3am, last one I saw was around noon. 9 hours of lightning!

And from the Daily Mail:

At least four teachers have died from COVID-19 since start of the school year including 28-year-old South Carolina third-grade teacher

• At least four teachers in three states died from COVID-19 complications since the start of the school year
• Among them was South Carolina third-grade teacher Demetria Bannister, 28, who died Monday just three days after she was diagnosed with the virus
• One of the teachers is believed to have become infected at a church meeting
• Two others were already self-quarantining or in hospital before students and staff returned to the classroom
• After reopening, some schools have already been forced to ask hundreds of staff and students to quarantine following potential exposure to the virus
• In New York City on Tuesday, two staff members in a Brooklyn school tested positive just a day after returning to the building

Apparently none had kids in their classroom; two were in the hospital BEFORE school even started. Amazing
Can’t put my hands on it now, but several months ago I read that the last one hundred years weather in California was wetter than normal.
Interesting. Would like to read that. Interestingly though, I doubt any year was wetter than 1861ish when it rained for 40 straight days and filled up the Central Valleys and many others with flood water. Legend has it that Leland rowed from his inauguration to the mansion and climbed in through the second story window. . . .

A generation ago, it was 75-80%; two generations before that, the so-called greatest generation, I bet it was 90-95%. Sad.

Easy. Trump.
I feel for you guys. It was 118 at a friend’s place in SoCal yesterday. I was working in the Bay Area during the rolling blackouts of the early 2000. They blamed those on Enron. Wonder who gets the blame for these?

oh, man. The Indian. let’s be honest; if the village people were formed today there wouldn’t be a cop or an Indian, and at least one of them would be gay.
Um, they are all gay. . . .

I think I mentioned this before, I flew from Syracuse to Chicago with the Village People on the flight. They had performed at the NY State Fair the night before. Actually sat next to the Indian Chief; fun conversation. . . .

Daughter just started at an all girls Catholic school. So far, 100% virtual thanks to Newsom. The school seemed to have a great hybrid plan in place until it was nixed by the czar. So far, distance learning seems to be going well. Some sports, though the smoke has canceled about half the sessions. They seem to have plenty of money as they’ve just opened a new academic center and a new athletics complex. Both outstanding.
Mick, did you happen to see the Q&A portion of today’s Biden presser? He couldn’t remember who to call on to get the softball questions. He deferred to staff to acknowledge those who got to engage during the session. You think that will work well in a debate? I’ve also noted that everyone in his entourage is repeating the same line. Even Joe has occasionally remembered to participate in the “Joe Goebbels” approach. “Trump is a liar!” “We need a trailer on screen during the debates to identify all of Trump’s prevarications in real time.” “Liar, liar, liar!” Jury nullification is the principle campaign strategy and it is underway, full time, involving the full panoply of surrogates. We already know what’s going to be told in the spin room post debate. After Biden has lost his train of thought and spewed bs on a national broadcast, the shelf life of this approach will be obvious. After his debate performance you think there will be a vibrant market for a faulty rehash of Trump’s comments after Charolette, about the responsibility for civil unrest in Trump’s America, about his “prescience” regarding the covid-19 virus? To the contrary, how about his Chief of Staff’s observations about his performance during the H1N1 outbreak, about the comments by Gates re his foreign policy chops, about Trump’s continuation of expanded unemployment benefits, about the continuation of rent abatement? All Biden’ll have left is his compassionate whisper and open collusion with the media. I don’t think it will work well.
Agree, but we shall see. I don’t like Trump, but the alternative is a nightmare.

A Kennedy losing in Mass is surprising, though losing to an incumbent is not a shock. The Kennedy’s are very far removed from relevance, especially with millennials.

That said, if Pelosi keeps the House, Schumer gets the Senate, and Harris the White House, we are indeed in deep do do.
