rjnwmillParticipantMick, how do you evaluate this fellows insight, “The central through thread from all of our conversations with young people throughout the year and the polls, whether ours or anyone else’s, [is that] they are more motivated to vote than ever before,” said Ben Wessel, executive director of NextGen America, a group funded by Tom Steyerthat works to turn out younger voters.
Tom didn’t get too far with his $500 million investment in his own campaign. Did his minions get real smart all of a sudden. I mean he couldn’t get past Biden/Clyburn et al?
How about this fellow who’s viewpoint/analysis is cited repeatedly? “Tom Bonier is a veteran Democratic political strategist and TargetSmart’s Chief Executive Officer. Prior to TargetSmart, Tom co-founded Clarity Campaign Labs in 2012 and helped build it into one of the nation’s leading Democratic analytics and research firms. He has spent more than 20 years working in Democratic and progressive politics. Tom’s tool, “Insights” grew out of TargetSmart analyses of 2018 voter data that we were performing internally and for our clients.” No mention of Tom’s relative prescience in 2016?
Mick, do you sense any “preaching to the choir” bias in the sourcing in your linked content? Not dissimilar perhaps to Trafalgar, but at least they were right in 2016.

rjnwmillParticipantThe conventional wisdom is that the Biden corruption story is the 2020 “October Surprise”. Perhaps conventional wisdom is incorrect. With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, could the death of Ruth Bader Ginsberg be event that shifts the outcome of the election?
What if she had been able to hold on for another two weeks? In the last ten days two election cases were decided in the Supreme Court; one went the dems way at 4-4. The other favored the republicans’ 5-3. With ACB in place, John Robert’s ain’t the swing vote anymore. As he doesn’t like outcomes that look “political”, is 6-3 the “new normal”.
It could be a real hoot to see major media try to explain their editorial decision not to fully cover the biggest story of the election cycle; the vote and subsequent installation of ACB on the Supreme Court. Their coverage was limited to the efforts at process and product positioning…the fluff.

rjnwmillParticipantRocky, not sure…but I believe the constitution requires that voting rules be set by the state’s legislature.
some of these last minute adjustments to the rules are being designed and implemented by election commissions in which case they wouldn’t pass constitutional muster. Nevada’s egregious effort to prohibit voter authentication may be a casualty? The changes to the signature verification process were implemented by Clark election officials.

rjnwmillParticipantI think I heard ACB is the 108th associate justice in our history? The 5th female? Real authentic feminists and historians making the editorial decisions for that network.

rjnwmillParticipantRocky, I don’t see media walking away from their voter suppression efforts. Why would they. At this late date it wouldn’t do any good for their tattered credibility. Plus they have some degree of plausible deniability. They can blame both the Russians and the pollsters.

rjnwmillParticipant“Obama is a pop star. He could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and half the country would still love him.”
Not so likely with the way the rank and file feel about DiBlasio and all things democratic. 😉

rjnwmillParticipant”20 people got felony convictions in Watergate. What’s the over and under for Obamagate?”
I love it. I’ll go with 15 if I get those issued pardons as well. I don’t see Orange sending “the Big Guy’s” tired old ass to the showers in the big house. Thoroughly humiliated publicly…absolutely.
(It’s interesting to note just how many of the dupes the Bidens targeted as facilitators for the introduction of Chinese money/technology into our critical infrastructure appeared on the VP shortlist. I guess they’d already proven themselves as lightweights who don’t ask too many questions.)

As to money from China, Werner Wolfe would say, “Let’s go to the documents and the cell phones!”
Say goodnight Joe.

rjnwmillParticipantThree cell phones & documents turned over to the FBI & the republican chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Hard to lie when you don’t have a command of the evidence. Senator Coon’s rebuttal was limited to Joe is a nice guy, Joe can deal with the pandemic, Joe can fix the economy & Joe can bring us together. Chris, can he do that from a cell in a federal pen?
Interestingly, the Senator seemed as though the disclosures today were a surprise. Orange has some folks around him who can keep a secret.

rjnwmillParticipantYou seem pretty sure of the outcome Dawg. Here are several factors it looks like I weigh differently than you.
-Several well thought of pollsters seem to agree that Orange will exceed expectations with voters of color. (538/Nate Silver & Trafalgar) this seems likely to impact the outcome in some key states: FL, TX, MI, NV, AZ & NC.
-It looks to me that the Orange base will turn out. I’m less certain for Biden. Particularly with the historical rejection rate on mail in ballots.
-I honestly don’t know the size of the “shy trump voter” segment. However I can share that both my daughter and niece qualify. Both mid thirties with young kids and are put off by the Orange bluster. Neither wishes to be associated with the atmospherics. Both have concluded Orange is right on the issues. They feel there are worse things than a crass SoB in the White House.
We’ll see.

rjnwmillParticipantCollateral damage…Chris Wallace asked to comment on the materials supplied by Bubalinski starts way too many sentences with, “if we assume”. He’s staking his hard won credibility on an effort to broadly sell his political preferences. So much for the reporting of hard news.
