October 21, 2020 at 10:05 pm in reply to: For the Few of You Left, FBI Has Linked the Biden Laptop to Money Laundering #3189
rjnwmillParticipantIf the investigation into money laundering has been closed, I would hope Barr would so disclose immediately. If the inquiry remains active, let the chips fall where they may.
As Orange disclosed to anyone who’d listen, he’s a counterpuncher. He’ll hit back harder. The toxicity of our politics is now going critical. Team Orange v Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Schiff et al. While fun to watch, it has to be put behind us. There will have to be a truce for the government to function as intended. I don’t see the Democrats waiving the white flag, nor will Orange.
The challenge of fixing this mess will be the issue in 2024. We need a bipartisan effort as we had in 1974. Throw out the bastards who have thankfully exposed themselves for exactly what they are over the last ten years. Leadership based on seniority is a failed model that was exposed a generation ago.

rjnwmillParticipantI can see it now…Obama shows up on Thursday to stump with Biden. He’s confronted with donkey’s braying about the sale of US foreign policy right under his nose by his VP, a fellow he recognized with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The questioning goes on; pressing Obama for comment about Hunter’s perversions with underage girls. How does No Drama Obama, the smartest person in the room respond…
“I didn’t know a thing about this until I read the expose in the N. Y. Post!”

rjnwmillParticipantSimple question Rocky, who do you trust? Luntz or Trafalgar?
How “shy” do you think suburban women might be about telling pollsters they’re for Orange? How motivated might they be to vote economy/safety?

rjnwmillParticipantIf the maven from Trafalgar is correct, this contest comes down to enthusiasm/motivation vs. preference. # 4 on your list Rocky seems to be the key along with the communications channel employed by the candidates.
I see every Biden talking head wrongly suggesting that Orange has to change his message if he’s to have any chance of winning this election. The chorus sings the common song declaring that Orange has no plan! Uniformly they suggest Orange should leave Biden criticism out of the stump speech, leave the media bashing out and talk about your plan for the next four years. And then they put their money behind an expensive and less effective channel. My gut suggests you get a lot more “juice” from an event with 20,000+ true believers than you do from a repetitive tv spot. Particularly if you’re focused on building enthusiasm. In this case, with these objectives, the lower cost channel may well be best…and Biden doesn’t have the stamina to use the channel. He can’t do three rallies a day. About the third time the Biden tv commercial plays, so what? Is anyone excited…no I think not. So Biden is playing to 20 cars with honking horns when he leaves the bunker every other day and running expensive tv spots. Good luck with that Joe.
I’m hoping January will bring us another democratic retreat focused on what went wrong? How did we get our asses kicked…again? This Trump fellow may be a better politician than the professionals think. He’s not winning on personality.

He’s enjoying this more than “Lock her up!”

rjnwmillParticipantLegend, I’m amused by your use of, “without evidence“.
The “evidence” warranted the mainstream media’s reporting of the Biden conflict/corruption story prior to impeachment. Now they opine that the smoking gun confirmation for their earlier stories, confirmation provided in the principals’ own email records, should be suppressed.
Thank goodness the editorial judgments were different in the 1970’s.

rjnwmillParticipantAs you may recall, I have from time to time cited status updates from the Trafalgar polling/market research firm. Their claim to fame was their ability to properly evaluate the silent Orange voter base in 2016. He feels that element is 5% larger that it was in the last cycle.
Their principal was on Laura Ingram’s hour tonight. He will be making a repeat appearance on Monday. You might want to see the segment.
He disagrees with the RCP averages and presented his results for several swing states. He has Orange in front in AZ, FL, MI & OH and that starting point gives Trump a number of paths to the 270 he needs to win the election.
Rocky is sleeping better tonight.

rjnwmillParticipantThe Trafalgar polling suggests an outcome very much like 2016. Orange with narrow leads in key swing states. Pennsylvania seems to be the important final nail in Biden’s coffin…if Orange can turn around a 2.5% deficit.

rjnwmillParticipantRocky, they’re aggressively trying to change the subject. No surprise.
Kudos to Silicon Valley. Unlike the N. Y. Times, they’ve succeeded. Like the closing scenes of The Hunt for Red October, where the attack submarine Dallas inserts itself between a torpedo and the Red October, Twitter & FaceBook have co opted the story. It’s about them now. Not about Biden.
17 days till the election and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act is the topic dujour. The industry’s exemption from litigation re published content/editorial judgment is the focus. This is amazing to me. Publishers like the N. Y. Times are bit players. Their opinion pieces are nothing but table stakes. They’re gambling with nothing but their sullied reputations. It’s all they have to shove out on the table. The social media companies are betting the Crown Jewels in an attempt to dissemble. They seek to influence the election outcome by risking their business model.
Very much like you Rocky, I hope they lose.

rjnwmillParticipantI don’t understand all the gnashing of teeth over Senator Hirono’s great effort here. She, with an assist from Webster’s, helped ACB highlight the importance of her judicial philosophy.
As a textualist, ACB will fairly apply the law and Constitution as written. ACB bases her legal reasoning on the meaning of the plain text at the time it was written. Hirono on the other hand, is only too happy to interpret language within the context of current usage and updated value systems. Hirono aptly demonstrates the distinction between the certainty that results from a system of laws and the transient and uncertain nature associated with a system of men.

rjnwmillParticipantHmmm…This seems about right. Facebook is refusing to distribute the N. Y. Post story. This is fascinating for several reasons. Is this Facebook’s responsibility? Seems to me the accuracy of the story is the sole responsibility of the initial publisher, the Post? Second, these steps to protect the masses were nowhere to be found four years ago when it was Russian collusion, Paul Manafort, Trump Tower meetings, sex in the Moscow Ritz and the N. Y. Times, the W. P., CNN & MSNBC were reporting the story. Has Facebook learned something from their blind acceptance of anti Orange BS? Are those learnings applicable to anti Biden/pro Orange stories now? Are right leaning main stream media reports to be restricted PRIOR to fact checking? Facebook as the Ombudsman of global media? Where is that in the mission statement? Will they refuse to distribute links to the N. Y. Post content until they can confirm that the crack was as good as promised?
The Biden campaign releases a disclaimer from the basement, “The Biden campaign, meanwhile, on Wednesday denied that any such meeting ever occurred. “[W]e have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place,” the campaign said in a statement.” I’d rather see the travel schedule/passport records of the Burrisma executive than a disclaimer from the Biden campaign.

rjnwmillParticipantThe timing is interesting as Fox is reporting the unmasking investigation is being shut down without a report. Further, they state there might not be a Durham report. This as Orange is claiming un-redacted documents with significant content are coming.
Barr and Orange better get on the same page.
