gpn, as you asked…this polling operation was the undisputed champ in 2016.  They called the result because they could properly determine the magnitude of the “shy” Orange voters.  This year they are back at it and they have a sense of humor.  They have a $10,000 bet with Nate Silver; who is closest to the final outcome.  The winner picks a covid charity for the money.

They are doing senate races as well as the Presidential contest.  As to the Senate.  Republicans seem to be doing well in Michigan & Alabama.  That would push them to 55 seats.  McSally, Collins and Tillis are behind so I too think it is likely the Republicans hold the Senate.  The Presidential contest will be decided in the courts.  The Ginsberg passing is a material benefit if a replacement is in place pre election.  I’m interested to see if the usual suspects try another “Kavanaughing” with the female nominee.  I doubt it, but who knows.  One thing is certain, Orange will take this choice seriously.  Pat Cipollone, Jay Sekolo and others will be reviewing the records carefully.

Thanks. The more high quality choices the better.

The competition to become the nominee seems to be driving the process to a superior result.

Pelosi is already taking heat from 30 or so of her members who are in the Problem Solvers caucus. They would accept and welcome another corona virus relief package. Most won in Republican districts in 2018. Another impeachment might well flip the house.

The Hispanic jurist from Florida has several possible benefits. Perhaps she helps in Florida. Rocky can sleep better. Gardner, McSally and Earnst have significant Hispanic minorities in their states. Their democratic challengers are left to criticize the process while speaking well of the nominee?  She endured the background check in the last 10 months so an update can proceed expeditiously. (The same is true of ACB.)  Lagoa received support from 85 Senators less than a year ago  ACB got 55 votes less than two years ago

It will be fun to watch this play out. Ginsberg/Trump  have boxed our political leadership in tight. Their self interest is now intimately tied to the wishes of their constituents. What an uncomfortable position for them!

    Hit it Martha!

    • One thing you gotta love about Orange…he’ll force people to make decisions. No comfortable coasting allowed when he has a responsibility to discharge.
    Donald J. Trump
“We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay.”
In our democracy, if a leader has the stones, things like this force our elected “representatives” to reflect the wishes of a majority of their constituents. No self serving posturing allowed. Orange forces our system to work as intended regardless of the outcome.  +1 Orange

    Well said.

RBG, to the end, let what is wrong with our judiciary/politics define her service.

With her departure stage left, she also puts the fool to our Chief Justice and his assertion that the judiciary is apolitical. How divorced from reality is the man?

He observed her comments on Trump. He saw her refusal to depart. Is Roberts that ignorant re human behavior; a worrisome trait in someone in his job…or simply a liar?

Interesting that our godsend, the uniter/healer Joe Biden hasn’t exerted a scintilla of effort trying to get Nancy to put a sock in it, or make a deal on stimulus?

    I thought bipartisan was good?

So you’re suggesting that referring to the deal as a distraction may be somewhat improper?

I wish they had definitive pronouncement on the financing behind the rioters. From source, to materials, to arms an legs.

    Can it be that hard.

Who pigeon holes posters TC. I simply look for witty or informative posts.

And to that point, BD’s thoughts turning to candidate Harris after seeing a post about the Democrats Blowing Pennsylvania made my week.

Rocky, what an inspiration the Orange One is!

Rapid vaccines, rapid therapeutics and now rapid convalescent plasma harvested from football players?  WOW

Simply a matter of timing…perhaps. Risky strategy though.

Yes. It’s hard to understand. I think he has a tough time getting to 270 if he concedes those two states.
